I love love love this ultra light thermal pullover especially how it’s sort of translucent so you can see my “save the ant” tee through it. Some guy makes these in etsy and I might need to get another! It has light blue contrasting plastic snaps and pairs perfectly with my purple burberry scarf! To me? this is peak fashion THE look for “fall into winter casuals.”

ETA: the fabric is called "alpha direct" the store where I got it is now closed for now

I'm being mansplained to on Facebook and it's the funniest thing ever. a guy is telling me how watches can't work without electricity, it's not possible even if they're wind up, that power needs to be stored in a battery. I'm trying to explain to him about springs, but he doesn't understand I'm dying 😂.

I think I did a pretty good job at labelling/tagging performance-related issues in and Shell; did I miss any important ones?

I really wish had non-shitty search and could allow using wildcards and "OR" operators for & bug triaging.

Have you discovered the interface at /-/graphql-explorer (or https://gitlab.com/-/graphql-explorer on the .com host?)

It can be handy to know of for stuff that's worth really complex queries.

    @billbennett no, because the bird.makeup fella doesn't care about whether you approve him copying your tweets to his dumb relay ... IMO not good to encourage it, recommend to avoid.

    @billbennett my take is that copying your content is one thing (archive.org, google) and there are processes for saying no (robots.txt, copyright), creating accounts in a social space with your name and avatar is a whole nother thing.

    it's generally bad all around. I'd make an exception for CDEM relay accounts in an emergency but I desperately hope nobody is relying on the fediverse for that.

    The attraction of refraction can be a distraction.The work in progress continues. A few frames from the epic moonrise last Thursday night (31st August). As the moon rose over the southern ocean, Earth's atmosphere beguiled and fascinated. Light from the moon journeyed a complex path to my eyes and it was amazing!

    GNOME Web users: are you as annoyed as I am with this menu on GitHub refusing to go away? It looks like it’s either busted feature detection on GitHub or a busted CSS implementation in WebKitGTK—regardless, here’s how to fix it

    1. Open ~/.var/app/org.gnome.Epiphany/data/epiphany/user-stylesheet.css

    2. Add:

    }
    }

    Vape juice with nicotine is addictive, but as far as we know from current research, less harmful than eating sugar. Vape juice without nicotine is both less addictive and less harmful than sugar. So the only aspect of vaping I can see a solid argument for banning is the disposable equipment.

    • it's plausible that smoking cannabis has health effects (we don't know)
    • vaping it has less health effects

    I feel like the "less" statement kind of implies against "plausible"?

    Thanks to a collaboration with my friend Stephen Voss, we present this composite image, taken over 3 nights last week. With Dunedin's Mount Cargill Tower as foreground, It shows the change in altitude of the sun over 3 nights caused by Earth's axial tilt and our motion around our parent star. It also shows the rotation of the sun over 3 Earth days (look at the sunspots and how they change position). Photos by me, processing by Stephen Voss. I love collaborations!
