@gamingonlinux same thing with #rainbowsixsiege and ubisoft. Only thing they have to do is send an e-mail to activate the serverside anticheat for linux.
You can play it offline or a local game, no problem. If you join an online match you get kicked/banned.
I'm not sure if this is my first ranked Victory Royale in #fortnite, but it certainly is since I got into diamond. It is definitely the first time I got the "There's no time" accolade for winning without reloading a single time (I didn't shoot at anyone at all till the top ten, and then took weapons from the two people I did kill).
I got exasperated last night playing #fortnite duos. I eliminated one person, but was knocked down by their teammate in a fish lady skin who had #Chewbacca with her. My friend finally arrives, and despite me telling him to shoot the fish lady, he starts to fire at Chewbacca instead, and the other player quickly shoots him and eliminates us.
I was all like "Why were you shooting Chewbacca? I told you not to shoot Chewbacca", and he actually said "I couldn't tell which one was Chewbacca."
It takes a special lack of game sense not to be able to tell these two #fortnite characters/skins apart, even in the heat of battle, but my friend managed to do it.
Як купити та поповнити ігрову валюту (V-Bucks) у Fortnite? Як працює функція "спільний гаманець" (shared wallet system) у Фортнайт на PlayStation, Xbox, PC та Nintendo Switch.
I've finally gotten into playing #Fortnite. I wasn't expecting so much of the game to be sitting around patently waiting in picturesque landscapes watching the sunlight shine down through gaps in the clouds over varied lush ecosystems.
Another thing I love about #fortnite is this absolute banger of a song that plays when I load the game. I thought that everyone heard the same thing, but it turns out that I must have randomly set it as my lobby music months ago when I first installed the game!
I played my last match of 'Fortnite' Chatper 5, Season 1 last night, and one (Zero Build Solo, 17 eliminations). After a looonnngg wait this evening, I finally got in and won my first match of Season 2 (15 eliminations).
So far, not much to say about the new season, except that I didn't see a single motorcycle and I'll be kind of bummed if they took those out.
@DarkestKale That’s what I liked about them. Your point about the hammers is well taken, too. With those (and the speedboats) I used to do a lot more recreational demolition.
@cliffwade I’m glad you’re walking in a better path today, especially one with no regrets. I’ll be sure to contact you if I ever have questions about the steaming world though, in case I decide to try it 😅
> Amid a recruitment struggle, branches are using huge hits like #Fortnite as #marketing tools. Some veterans see the practice as unethical – especially given the age of the #gaming audience
Wait, #LegoFortnite isn't a big online pvp battle thing? I thought that's what the whole idea behind #Fortnite. After watching Floydson's 100 Days video, it's clearly a survival crafter. And I think it's single player, possibly with some co-op options?
I don't think #Minecraft is the best comparison—it reminds me a lot more of #BreathOfTheWild with the blueprints, janky vehicles, gliders, character leveling, and potions. It doesn't look like it has the puzzles, plot, or boss fights of #BOTW. To offset that, the village building; automation via NPCs, and machinery add some potential for depth.
I guess this is just me being old and out of touch with the games played by kids these days. Certainly looks fun.
Now that I've seen the whole thing, there is one really cool thing and one deal breaking problem that stand out.
First the good. The build system is 90% of what I'd want a Lego build system to be. It gives you options at the brick level, wall level, room level, and structure level. That gives you a significant level of customization while still allowing quick & easy deployment of complex stuff on a large scale. You aren't locked into one scale of creativity, everything from interior design to city planning is supported. Yeah, it needs more content at the brick level and structure level but it's a live service game so I fully expect that to be forthcoming.
The game killing problem is how janky the controls are. Floydson isn't a stranger to screwy building systems but he usually gets the hang of it eventually and calls himself a silly goose for taking so long to figure out how a thing is broken in order to work around it. But he was complaining throughout this video, was clearly irritated, and showed plenty of footage of things bugging out or just not being designed well making simple tasks near impossible.
Yeah it's one thing to be frustrated by a game because I'm 'playing it wrong' (i.e. I did something that made me die, etc.) It's a whole 'nother thing to be frustrated by a game because it's just not working properly. I seriously don't have the patience.
However, this is still just another corporate pissing match between two giant companies that don't want to agree on who gets how much of the cake
No matter how much Sweeney is banging on about consumer rights, in the end he's only interested in keeping ALL the money from #Fortnite game sales and IAPs on #iOS for himself. Even if they could get rid of all #Apple#AppStore fees, #EpicGames will certainly not lower their prices by 30% because they're shaming Apple into implementing the #EU's #DigitalMarketsAct
@SebinNyshkim Tim Sweeney can pound sand for all I care, that dude killed Rocket League and refuses to bring Fortnite to the Steam Deck because he needs “just a few more developers” as if he doesn’t have more money than god AND as if he doesn’t purposely disable the Linux build of EAC for those two games.
Both run fine on Proton, he just has a grudge with Valve because they own the entire market due to providing a great storefront
#Fortnite maker Epic Games has prevailed in an #antitrust trial over Alphabet’s #Google Play app marketplace, Epic chief executive Tim Sweeney said on Monday, hours after the federal jury took up the case.
Well, that might be it for me on #FortniteOG. The big event is tonight, and after that the update to the next chapter. When they launched the "OG" season, I felt like a month was too short, but frankly now that we're at the end of it, I think this was exactly right.
There were rumors they might leave it around as a game mode, and I would be fine with that. And frankly, I hope they do it again (whether revisiting Chapter 1 or the others). But I'm ready to move on.
