J'ai regardé la mini-série "La chute de la maison Usher" (8 épisodes).
Un magnat pharmaceutique voit mourir ses 6 enfants en 2 semaines. Un hasard ?
Le film commence comme un policier et vire au fantastique.
Et c'est aussi une critique acerbe des millionnaires psychopathes.
⚠️ Assez gore ! Mais intriguant, effrayant et prenant.
Il vous fera dire plusieurs fois "Oh la vache ! 😱"
@sebsauvage même sa voix (je ne sais pas si tu la regardé en VO) très rauque, pas du tout reconnaissable. Moi ça a poppé immédiatement a la première image - hooo marc hamill !! Je crois que c'est pour ça que j'ai continué à regarder sinon pas trop fan des truc horreur/gore habituellement. Mais la en effet c'était plutôt plaisant. Content de le voir dans d'autres registres.
Far superior to Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers in that there doesn't seem to be so much manufactured emotion.
Efficient and unsentimental direction by Eastwood keeps the running time as lean as you can.
No false emotion and solid acting all around, considering this is Eastwood's first foreign film, technically.
Fun fact- Clint Eastwood still writes letters but still doesn't understand the concept of stamps.
@MibIH Something to that. Comic books themselves have a wide range of creative approaches via the different writers, artists etc. The movies based on them could be as diverse.
Anthony Minghella's well acted and well meaning domestic drama has its moments, but it too often stalls with random subplots and you're distracted by Jude Law's fake British accent.
Give it up Jude Law, we know you sound like Fran Drescher when they yell 'Cut'!
It feels like obvious awards bait and its 2 hour running time seems like 2 hours and 15 minutes.
A good movie that could have been great if you cut 20 minutes and three story strands.
And Juliette Binoche with that fake Mexican accent. Somebody tell her she was in a Godzilla Movie. Ease her into it.
I think Martin Freeman looks shorter in this movie.

Ridiculously entertaining for most of the run(sweetheart)time. A bloody blast of adrenaline.

I just finished watching the original "True Grit" and the remake and both are great movies. With the epic line "Fill your hand you son of a bitch" in a 4 on 1 gun fight on horseback. It's not the first time I've watched them but it's the first time I've watched them back to back. I highly recommend both if you like the Western genre.
Because of David Gordon Green's uneven Halloween trilogy, I wasn't expecting much from his newest 70s reboot.
Didn't get much. Thoroughly generic exorcism/possession movie that just happens to share a title with, you know. A Muppet Babies cover of one of the greatest horror movies of all...you know the rest.
Didn't hate it, mainly due to cratered expectation but it stays a Meh-xorcist until its probable sequel unless it tanks at the box-office.
Until then I guess we'll all have to wait in eager anticipation for David Gordon Green to put in a Violent Marching Band to fight Pazuzu which is totally a serious thing and not at all derisively hilarious.
What black and white film stands out for you the most as a great film in which the black and white aspect brings something to it? Something that addition of colour would possibly diminish the impact of - be it an old film or a modern b&w film?
Bonus question: What was the first black and white film you watched and liked, and how old were you at the time?
Many of the shows you go to (likely unmasked) are run by #techs who are struggling with #LongCovid. Trust me. I'm one of them. And I'm not the only one of them in this room.
