Thinking about attempting to code an #ActivityPub service as a learning project, and to perhaps solve the social lock-in issue of gaming platform profiles that really pisses me off. ๐ค
I really really don't like #DRM, however I'm way too attached to my almost 20 year old #Steam profile and like to do video game achievements. Having a unified, federated profile that pulls its data from all the different sources (Steam, PSN, Xbox, RetroAchievements.org and especially GOG) would be neat. #gaming
@Natanox I am not familiar with these game achievement systems, so this may not be usable for you..
I had various fediscussions in the past where some form of federated verified badges were mused about. Verified to avoid fakes. Various times #OpenBadges spec was mentioned, which is JSON-LD based.
Another thought is.. you may get into trouble using official artwork. But that may be an opportunity for artwork communities around badges and get fedi-art alternatives.

Ich wรผnsche mir in #Mastodon eine Option, mit der ich Beitrรคge mit Bildern ohne Alt-Text einfach ausblenden kann.

Einfach als Checkbox in den Einstellungen.
Das ist wahrscheinlich viel effektiver, als die endlose Bettelei, doch bitte Alt-Texte an Bilder zu kleben.
@Looping : ha ! Though I appreciate both the offer and the suggestion, I'm not moving instances. Since we cannot transfer past toots to a new instance, and I intend to someday simply be on my own instance, for now I'm staying where I am. But yeah, otherwise that's really an accurate suggestion.

primarily I want to share one id/account. we don't need separate private messaging here. when people try to do that, it should be a matrix conversation. etc.
