@vwbusguy To be honest, I do not like to have my nextcloud broadcast into the Fediverse, where to find my nextcloud instance, so I will stay away from that.
@bergmeister I totally respect and understand that. Nextcloud Social was my gateway to the #fediverse many years ago. I originally made this #Mastodon account to test out how Nextcloud Social worked. Unfortunately, Nextcloud Social remains largely the same now as it was then.
@nonlinear Yeah. Pixelfed is another Fediverse/Activity Pub service. But you can have your own Pixelfed instance if you like. Yeah you will probably have 2 accounts. (Although Pixelfed has recently been working on being able to sign into Pixelfed via your Mastodon account). Yeah nothing prevents "nonlinear" being used as username on any Fediverse instance. But presumably if there is only 2, yours on your own Mastodon instance + yours on your Pixelfed instance then people can find you on either.
I'm rebuilding my test server, which has the original Alpha docker setup. Everything is now 100% different from the early code base, so I can't upgrade, I must rebuild it. Once I get the test server working, I'll do the same with my production server.
I'm trying to set it up with S3, something that wasn't supported earlier, but it's not working. I'm wondering if you discovered something that isn't obvious?
@Jerry Hi Jerry! I wish I could give you good news on that, but I sadly gave up on debugging it (for now). I didn't get much on leads from the Matrix server either.
@gbhnews I voted for eclipse only because I have never actually successfully viewed a meteor shower - always foiled by cloudy weather or light pollution or desire to sleep - but have been fortunate enough to view both lunar and solar eclipses. Astronomical wonders are all amazing, I still hope to see an impressive meteor shower one day!

the only thing that triggers me the most in #Mastodon is the lack of ability to search your own toots like why do i have to scroll down my profile just to delete my own toots?
also they need to have some sorting thing to display profiles without boosts

For me, I didn't do much of anything over the weekend except rest and relax.
For the week ahead, just usual work stuff, a bi-weekly meeting tomorrow, doctors appointment Wednesday morning for the wife and then hopefully Wet N Wild waterpark later in the week.

On a side note: Having beautiful #ALTtext on images has the nice side effect that unconventional Mastodon media browsers like mine get to display them in all their glory (in addition to making them accessible to more hoomans).
