je verrai bien des moteurs de recherches plus spécialisés, se cantonnant à un domaine précis (par ex: sciences, art, code, musique, actualités etc) et un annuaire de ces moteurs, ça limiterait les choses à indexer et limiterait les résultats non petinents

Microsoft announced the 24H2 update for Windows 11, with a promise of improved performance for the X Elite chips. What about our older ARM computers? Will they run faster too? Let's see!

@hal_canary You clearly never owned a Zenith that had bad connection in it. A good slap on the side every 20 minutes usually solved that issue.

“Most people are not aware of the resource usage underlying ChatGPT,” Ren said. “If you’re not aware of the resource usage, then there’s no way that we can help conserve the resources.”

In July 2022, the month before OpenAI says it completed its training of GPT-4, Microsoft pumped in about 11.5 million gallons of water to its cluster of Iowa data centers, according to the West Des Moines Water Works. That amounted to about 6% of all the water used in the district, which also supplies drinking water to the city’s residents.

I am amused. One the one hand, Microsoft is introducing Recall, which literally takes screenshots of everything you do on windows, but on the other hand, they are taking users ability to take screenshots of their browser away if their company configures it as such.

This tiny PC is now packing the most powerful laptop chip AMD makes!
Funnily enough, Microsoft threw AMD and Intel under the bus.
NONE of the current selling "AI" PCs qualify for the "CoPilot" branding.
Who knows, maybe you don't want that new Microsoft Recall feature on your system anyway?

I believe many execs (& many of their enablers) are evil & diabolical, & they only care about their bottom line, esp. , , ...:

"Paul Graham wrote an essay in 2010 about how the best founders are naughty because they break the rules.

Then he has an interesting anecdote about Sam Altman...

Interesting lens through which to view why OpenAI keeps showing up in the news for doing obviously bad things."
-buccocapital

FeralRobots,
@FeralRobots@mastodon.social avatar

@KimPerales It's bizarre that they describe Altman as one of their 'most successful alumni' since just about everything he did before OpenAI failed on its merits. But he was able to leverage them to get progressively more-lucrative gigs, whether or not the companies actually did well, so I guess that makes him "successful" - as a grifter.

KimPerales,
@KimPerales@toad.social avatar

@FeralRobots It's like calling TFG a successful businessman & not a conman & grifter.

@underlap I love that — it’s one of the things that really makes me weary so to frameworks like Next.js. Every update or upgrade feels like a small battle rather than a simple, iterative improvement.
