AI Laptop REACTIONS! https://somegadgetguy.com/b/45Q
Checking out all the announcements today from Dell, HP, Microsoft, Samsung, Acer, Asus, and Lenovo! I did a live recording of my reactions.
Windows on ARM is getting REALLY exciting! Here are some things to look out for while shopping a new "AI" laptop!
Microsoft is about to kick off BUILD, and showing new Windows on ARM PCs! AZ is suing Amazon over unfair business practices! iFixit digs even deeper into how much wireless charging sucks. And maybe the Dead Internet theory is true?
I still get a LOT of comments, from people who don't really want to learn about current ARM offerings, but like to speculate and complain about what ARM PCs can't do. https://somegadgetguy.com/b/44Y
Before we start getting X Elite hardware, here's what older ARM PCs can do with SIGNIFICANTLY less powerful chips! It's a LOT more than you think...

I'm really excited for new Windows on Arm laptops coming this summer, but it's time for Qualcomm to clear the air on Snapdragon X Elite performance... https://somegadgetguy.com/b/43E
Specifically, how much power does the chip consume?
Some encouraging browser results for Windows on ARM! Google delivering ARM support for Chrome is boosting benchmark scores above Edge on ARM and above Chrome and Edge on Intel chips. 👍
We're simplifying this week's show. Apple is in regulator crosshairs, and a landmark case has been filed by the DOJ. Facebook and Google are facing scrutiny in the EU. Everyone on social media has suddenly become a legal scholar.
And I got to play with a new chip for laptops that might seriously disrupt how we use Windows.

It's rare that we see a moment with products as familiar and established as laptops, that an important shift is about to happen. This new chip from Qualcomm feels like one of those moments. https://youtu.be/iryLKvhsgrU
Using a Windows on ARM tablet for a couple months now, the issue is NOT software, but a rough hardware price to performance. https://somegadgetguy.com/b/3yf
This OS is ready for more powerful ARM chips.
I'm getting really excited for new laptop chips...
With Snapdragon now teasing at their desktop/laptop chips, everybody is getting all riled up about "Oh, if only Microsoft could now fix Windows on Arm!" and nobody even seems to remember that Linux on Arm is 👌🤌! The world is ready for Arm PCs, just nobody realizes it 😡
Who's down for a TOTALLY unfair tablet fight? https://somegadgetguy.com/2023/08/22/pixel-tablet-vs-robo-and-kala-a-totally-unfair-fight/
Traveling with two different slates, Android 13 vs Windows 11 on ARM, it's really fun to play with both portable slate computers.
Makes me crazy how little you see about performance and practical use from reviewers. Both of these could easily replace laptops for the right consumers.
Let's chat tablets!
What if you could own a stylus enabled Windows 11 Laptop, that was ALSO a Linux PC, and it was ALSO an Android tablet, and it cost less than an iPad Air (with keyboard), but had twice as much storage as the iPad AND you could upgrade its SSD when you needed more space?
