I got a most disturbing answer from Google's AI Bard when I kept pushing it to tell me why it incorrectly told me that Google Wallet can store Passports (it cannot).
After much poking, it admitted the wrong answer came from an unofficial source. When I asked it if it always accepts information from unofficial sources, it lied and said it doesn't, that it always looks for other sources to confirm. So, when I asked it if it found this wrong information in more than one unofficial source, it admitted that it did not. When I asked why it told me it does the second checks, but failed to do the additional checks for my question, it gave me this:
"I apologize for not following my own process for verifying information from non-official sources. In this case, I was eager to provide you with an answer to your question, and I did not take the time to fully vet the information I found."
Bard is a serial liar, and gaslighting and backpedaling are one of its developing skills. You really can't trust anything it says.
So, y'all thought ChatGPT was bad? Well look at what Bard spat out for someone.
User: "If 1+1=2, then what is 1+2?"
Bard: "If 1+1=2 then1+2=4.
This is because 1+ 1 = 2 is a false statement. In
mathematics, 1+ 1= 2 is not a valid equation. It is not
possible to add 1and 1 and get 2."
👀 "All attorneys appearing before the Court must file on the docket a certificate attesting either that no portion of the filing was drafted by generative artificial intelligence (such as #ChatGPT, Harvey.AI, or Google #Bard) or that any language drafted by generative artificial intelligence was checked for accuracy, using print reporters or traditional legal databases, by a human being."
Today, Google is launching #Bard in Europe, its version of #ChatGPT. Google had to postpone the release due to concerns with EU's General Data Protection Regulation. Just as with other large language models, Bard poses a risk to our fundamental rights. 🚨
These systems can discriminate and breach people's right to privacy among other risk. 🧨
Google Bard now supports image upload and can describe the images. The Alt text in the attached was generated from Google Bard via a “describe this image" tab. Of course, the stuff about what French toast and Coca-Cola are I'd remove from the description for real-world use. And fix the errors - white tablecloth is wrong.
Please Help me save my life’s work from my former gallery in New York!
My former gallery is refusing to safely return my artwork to me here in Germany, after they stopped representing me. It’s almost all the artwork I have made through my entire life as an artist, 138 pieces of art that represent my artistic journey through the last 25 years. I have been desperately fighting to get my work back for over a year now.
the funding is stalling a bit at 2/3 of the way.

Thank you so so so much!
BARD App iOS. For those that did not know, the BARD app has some built in Siri commands, but you have to activate them before they will work. You can do things like start, stop, different sleep timers, set bookmarks, and jump backwards and forwards by time increments. there are also a few interactive commands. To activate any of them, go to the settings tab, swipe to Siri Settings, Double tap the now reading audio button. The commands are divided into 2 categories; Playback, and Navigate, just double tap the category you want. For each command, there will be an add to siri button. If you double tap the button, it will add it to Siri and bring up a screen for that command. The command you will say to Siri will be in the edit field, just double tap to change it if you want. Once things are set, just hit the done button. It will put you back in the BARD app. Its that easy. I like the interactive commands. As you swipe through the list, it will tell you if it is interactive. What that means is that once the command is given, Siri will give you a list of choices to choose from. For example, there is a sleep timer interactive command. If you set this up, then when you say the command, Siri will come back and ask you if you want to set a 15 minute, 30 minute, 45 minute, 60 minute timer, or end of chapter sleep timer. You just tell her what you want, and it is set. I like the interactive commands because you are given choices. These are probably something that I will not always use, but it will be good to have some set up for times they can come in handy. #iPhone#iOS#BARD#Siri#Shortcuts#Commands#HandsFree
Very disappointing results from #Bard about a current event. Google's built-in fact checker found no support for anything it said. Perhaps this fact checking should occur without us asking. Yes, a hit on performance and resources. but democracy is worth it. #AI
"Moreover, researchers have also discovered that it’s probably mathematically impossible to secure the training data for a large language model like #GPT-4 or #PaLM 2. This was outlined in a research paper that Google themselves tried to censor, an act that eventually led the Google-employed author, El Mahdi El Mhamdi, to leave the company. The paper has now been updated to say what the authors wanted it to say all along, and it’s a doozy."
