"So, take notes, Butcher Biden: The ancestors of the #Ireland that you claim to be from disown you. Keep our country out of your mouth. And as for von der Leyen (President of the #European Commission), and #genocidal#Germany with your words and deeds supporting #Israel in the #ICJ: Not in our name! The people of #Europe stand with #Palestine and with #SouthAfrica."

The companies’ Russian operations have been aided by imports of ingredients that fall on the #EU's sanctions list.

#ColumbusDay “Each Crueler Than the Last”
On Statues of Christopher Columbus—and the Men Who Raised Them
"This story extends from the islands of the #Caribbean to the settlement that became St. Louis, charting the origins of the statue that stands in Tower Grove Park today. The following text contains many descriptions of graphic violence—the violence that was necessary to impose #European#colonialism white supremacy, #capitalism, and ultimately the sovereignty of the #UnitedStates on this land. Christopher Columbus set this violence in motion; Henry Shaw, the commissioner of the statue in St. Louis and the founder of the Missouri Botanical Garden, perpetuated it—as do those who venerate their legacy today." https://crimethinc.com/2018/09/10/each-crueler-than-the-last-on-statues-of-christopher-columbus-and-the-men-who-raised-them

"More than 60 #CimateActivists have been arrested in #London under the UK’s 'repressive' new anti-protest laws.
"Just Stop Oil protesters were taking part in a ‘slow march’ around Parliament Square yesterday morning (30 October), demanding an end to new #oil and #gas licenses.
"Within 10 minutes, Metropolitan police arrived - blocking their path and forcing activists off the road. When this proved unsuccessful, videos and photos show police kneeling on and handcuffing protesters, before carrying them into vans.
"This is the first time that the Met have made arrests under section 7 of the #PublicOrderAct 2023, which bans any activity that 'interferes with the use or operation of any key national infrastructure in #England and #Wales.'

Now that UK has (finally) rejoined EU's #Horizon#research programme, revived involvement has immediately his another bump in the road, caused by #Tory policy.
The limitation on #visas for scientific researchers & the high cost of obtaining entry to the UK for work, mean that while we are formally part of the programme, the return of #European researchers to UK based research projects is currently constrained.
The EU Commission is asking the UK Govt to ease restrictions... good luck with that!

I just voted in the 🇪🇺 #European#Elections for the first time in France and boy do I have notes. French people, do you always vote like this?!
Positive: at 8am the polls were already busy with queues. My past experience is voting in a small town in Germany where you walk in and out in 5 minutes, so I can't compare voting in a larger city to that.
However, I imagine the process with ID check, voter lookup, signature, stampig of voting card isn't helping. (1/5)
