After almost two years of being here as my main social channel, I’m seeing that #mastodon & the #fediverse platform reward users’ efforts the more we intentionally curate and engage with our timelines
Today I learned that exist the #technoelitarists. Those are people that believe we must give them something back just because they have the privilege to dedicate their time to the new #technoarts.
They call themselves or are known by the lesser tech-savvy as #contentcreators.
The Technoelitists demand attention and they consider themselves an essential necessity, and therefore they request that any technology must be built around them.
They assume that their presence on the #Fediverse is a gift to us but they constantly blackmail us! Persistently reiterating their #technoarts cannot be bestowed for free. This is because, we do not deserve them, we are simply technopeasants.
They decided that Fediverse wasn't exciting enough for us technopeasants, because the Fediverse was essentially built ugly, without aesthetic, unable to offer the beauty of the technoarts...
The Technoelitists now demand mandatory to bend the fediverse around them because we are simply peasant and we are limited...
Adding a Fediverse Share Button to my Emacs Nikola Blog
Just to get extra meta, I published this blog post, then shared it to my #Fediverse account by clicking the "Fediverse Share Button" and writing these words you're reading right now.
Next I will grab the article ID of this toot, and rebuild and redeploy, so that when (if?) anyone replies to this toot, their replies will appear in the "Comments" section of my blog!
100% static site, written in Emacs, built and deployed using Nikola.
What I find strange in #ActivityPub and #Fediverse that there is no way to put a note to follow request. Like "I want more posts in language_name in my feed and I liked the cat videos you repost".
It gives cases when someone concerned that they did not understood why someone follows them.
Just had another wow moment while checking https://mapstodon.space's timeline: so much rich and diverse content, in many different languages, with a fresh and spontaneous balance between on-topic and off-topic conversations, and nothing but good vibes all around!
Thanks to everyone for making our little corner of the internet friendlier and more interesting everyday :)
I still don't understand how fedi instances work between each other, how can instances even block each other?? How can you find an instance that doesn't block others? How hard is it to host your own? So many questions!
Circles in blue reminds me of the beautiful glass made in Murano. Available as wallart, apparel, jigsaw puzzle and accessories (phone & laptop skins, totes, coasters, stickers and more).
At SFO heading back home after a week of meetings and conversations about #Mastodon and #Fediverse community and futures - sincere thanks to @mike and his team for being the best hosts for this visit. #gratitude
To borrow a phrase from a friend, my mind is “fizzing with ideas” and full of positive thoughts about the future of the open social web.
I had such a great chat with @mike on his Dot Social podcast, where we talked about the future of the web and why I'm a web optimist, why everyone should be a blogger, digital ownership, and decentralized social media.
