I carved a #violin bridge from a blank. I think it looks like a dog with its ears folded back from this angle. I messed up the feet some, and did not have a bridge knife to complete the kidneys and heart, so I just left them as they are.
Regardless, there's something pleasing about the smooth subtle changes in height around the holes. Imagine a large sheet filled with such motifs.
This new string #orchestra is almost ready to launch, welcoming beginners, learners, "rusty returners", and experienced players who want to be #CovidCareful.
We're now at the point where just another dozen or so players would make it financially viable!
Can you help me to reach those people?
Do you know anyone who plays #violin, #viola, #cello or double #bass - or who might like to try?
Part of my Architecture in Music Series, this probably isn't a real Hopf violin (they're rather expensive and a little rare). Small details in the neck block and varnish finish give it away.
This is a focus stack of 75 images to keep it sharp from front to back, and another two images for the smoke (which is actually water vapor).
(0/54) Ever think, “Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ is such a fantastic song. I should find and listen to many, many different versions of it!”?
No? Well … a few weeks ago, I did just that. I started a project of sorts which involved spending hours finding all manner of covers of Creep by Radiohead, so you don't have to!
Go ahead and listen to all of them, and let me know what you think of them…
Thought this would be the perfect time to do some #Introductions ✨🦣
Heya, I'm Purple. I am a #writer and #community builder currently serving as the community manager at @mammoth. I am a radio & #podcast host, a particle #physics geek and a lover of beautiful things, maybe that's what drew me to Mammoth 🦣
I play the #violin sometimes, occasionally dabble in #fashion design and fiddle with diy things.
My motto is 'be kind, life could use a little sunshine and flowers of the sun'🌻
I never ended up doing an #introduction, but we have a lot of new server members so here goes nothing.
My name’s Dylan. I’m 27. I’m from Long Island, NY and I daily drive an ND2 #Miata, my attainable dream car. Yes, my dream car is a Miata. Mock me all you want.
