I want to be more active about encouraging #Threads users to federate.
To that end, I asked @nationalkidneyfoundation to federate this morning and bring their good work around kidney disease and transplant to the #fediverse.
The vibes on Threads have been shifted. The For you feed brings up negative and controversial posts. Unsurpisingly no such negativity exists on my chronological feeds on Mastodon.
#Threads wants to be the best place where people have relevant, public, real-time conversations, and the #fediverse is the means by which people can find the audiences that are best for those conversations, because not all of them will be on Threads.
The fediverse is a compelling way for creators to own their audiences in a way they aren't able to own on other apps today.
@J12t said in Finally I'm getting around to listen to @mike 's Dot.Social episode with @rklambo and @pcottle from #meta, talking about #threads.:
Rachel: one of the challenges with the fediverse is: how do you figure out where your content went, and how can I follow that conversation that now exists on multiple different servers?
Something ForumWG is actively researching at present. A lot of the fediverse is built on reply chains, fragmented ones, but there's a better path forward, and we're figuring out just how to do it.
You shouldn't ever have to "view original post" except out of a sense of curiosity.
A lot more happening #Eurovision-wise on #Bluesky than here, upon a quick look. And I can't really gather the activity at #Threads since there's NO way I can display most recent activity, even if not sorted by time 🤦♂️ so idk where to keep posting on Saturday 😕

, we honour Robert Schuman's vision of a united, peaceful, and thriving Europe.
We celebrate the people who built our Union.
And those who keep building it every day.
This day belongs to all Europeans—the dreamers and the builders.
Together, we are stronger.
This noob is testing the interconnectivity of the #Fediverse:
The word out there on the Fediverse make it seem as if all the different tools (Mastdn/P-tube/Lemmy/etc.) can interact with one another. But this is not the case, as some work both ways, whilst others only one way, or at all.
a) Using #Bridgyfed, to test between AT ( #BlueSky ) & AP protocols (Mastodon, etc.)
b) Meta's #Threads for testing with Mastodon.
c) Starting to test #Nostr with its peer-to-peer network.
TL;DR:
The #Fediverse holds a lot of promise, but it the ideal level of interconnectivity isn't there yet. (And yes, not all of them need to be able to connect and interact on the same level of details as with the others, as they are different tools.)
A little bird told me that when #Threads will be totally into #ActivityPub then #Mastodon will mysteriously lose the ability to block entire domains/servers... 🐦
