Contrary to popular belief, comics don't tend to have happy endings.

Take the Poison Ivy vs Batman comics for example.

Story lines in which a hero attempting to reclaim industrial land back to nature, is constantly thwarted by an unhinged billionaire in a bat suit whose modus operandi is to surprise attack and beat up the poor, and people with mental illnesses.

Very smart story telling. A grim analogy of how capitalism won't allow environmentalism.

@selzero I think the Poison Ivy storylines in the Animated Series, on Harley Quinn’s show, and the comics wrestle with this. The whole season finale arc of Harley was the gang being on board with Ivy’s radical environmental goal of overturning the status quo UNTIL they realised it required violence. It’s that interesting dichotomy between people being drawn to an outcome being evangelised without understanding the means to get there.

@selzero and did you see that the current arc asks a similar question? Catwoman organised all the henchmen in Gotham, and created a code where they don’t commit violent crime but can only burgle wealthy people’s homes. It worked but Batman refuses to accept the deal, and he prefers to destroy the truce.

    @SJohnRoss I’ve made them with fresh roasted pumpkin and canned, and I only use the can now. America’s Test Kitchen says the canned is more consistent, and also has less water, which makes for a creamier filling.

    I mean, there’s no bad pumpkin pie lol.

    Hear me out, someone should message and get them to make a version of .

    It’s a solo worker placement game where you play as the French resistance (the Maquis) and complete thematic sabotage missions vs Nazis. It’s a puzzle of collecting resources/intel, performing sabotage, and getting fighters home safely.

    Reskin the map with the demilitarised zone, and fight against the Cardassians and Starfleet. Replace the workers with small wooden ships.

    I know it’s a 15 year old game but it’s new to me. It’s like discovering a classic movie or book for the first time. is one of my favorite movies so exploring a spaceship is 🤩

    It’s visually stunning but the 2008 version still holds up. Its HUD-less UI must have felt revolutionary then. It still does.

    Gosh, I’d love to see a fully ray traced version of this game.

    Finally brought myself to watch ’s finale, Endgame. I’ve been putting it off for a couple months.

    It’s been 22 years since it aired but I won’t spoil it.

    It was a perfect ending for me. The 90 minutes was well-paced and every detail was thought through.

    It centred around the central question of the show and answered it decisively.

    Everyone has their Trek series and captain, and Voyager and are mine. 🥲

    PS it’s probably the best aging makeup I’ve seen 😅.

    I'm hopeful for the next week. I tested Remote Play on an iPad since that's the closest comparison.

    2 advantages it has over Chiaki on is support, including haptics, gyro, and touchpad support. So many PS5 games rely on those features, and some don't work without them. The other advantage is that it works over any network, and does not need to be on the same one.

    Customer demand has been strong with restocks being sold out quickly.

    In any act of violence there are three parties; perpetrators, victims, and targets. If your target, or who you’re trying to influence (a state or government), is different from your victim (civilians), then you are a terrorist by definition.

    And violence includes physical and psychological harm. Don’t be a terrorist.

    Having one of the towns best pizza places literally across the street makes things like "I know I should cook something but meh" turn into "mm hot French fries" very quickly.

    Finally back home with a again. All the games I missed are now included with so I’ll have quite a backlog. One reason I stopped playing my PS5 was the games were too expensive. Waiting a couple years solved that





    also works great on . I’m now debating whether to keep my preorder. But it’ll have larger screen, 1080p (vs 720p), adaptive triggers and rumble.

    @SJohnRoss ha, that’s not a bad idea. It all ends up being too much to fully appreciate each dish on the day. I always loved Thanksgiving sandwiches in the weeks after the holiday so I was so happy when I got to UK/Ireland and saw they have chicken and stuffing sandwiches year round 😅

    @Deglassco Ethiopian Jews were finally recognized as Jews, and could immigrate to Israel in the 1970s/80s. Decades after European and ME Jews. But their own experience with anti-Black racism there led to the adoption of US Hip Hop culture, & West Indian Dancehall culture, as means of expressing their perceptions of racism.

    Ethiopian Jews said they weren’t considered “Black” in Africa but applied that label to other Africans. They were dismayed that they that were perceived as such in Israel

    We don't know the numbers but the seems to be a popular preorder. It has sold out multiple times at online retailers before being restocked

    That's despite mainstream journalists, like , constantly saying that streaming is a service without a market

    There were rumours that Xbox attempted a streaming stick but thought it had to be sub-$100 and couldn't make it happen. Portal's $200 price seems tolerable
