Did someone ever try to use a 3D printing pen to fill-in those nasty seam lines that a printed 3D model has on each layer? Usually I sand them away after optionally filling them with super glue and baking soda. I wonder if closing the gaps with a 1.75 mm filament compatible pen could be an option, as I could use the same filament used to print the model. #3Dprinting#3Ddruck#PostProcessing#Nachbearbeitung
To clarify: I don't talk about the layer lines, but of the gap that ist created where the print head ends its journey on each layer. Usually you try to hide this seam at the back or inside your model but sometimes this is not possible and you end up with a visible scar where everyone can see it #3Dprinting#3Ddruck#PostProcessing#Nachbearbeitung
Did not know that. The moulding around the hot-end on my printer was packed-in with filament, making it very hard to print — it harmed the adhesion to the print plate rather terribly. The interior of the module (the plastic casing for the hot-end) was also slathered with hardened plastic, breaking the z-sensor of the hot-end.
Also, in #3dprinting news... I learned how to replace a hot end today.
Hello there! The Star Wars 3D printing isn't just on May the 4th (be with you). I completed this LEGO Obi-wan Kenobi minifigure (via BigBricks on @Thangs3D) in about a day's time. My collection grows! https://than.gs/m/1057913?image=1176461
I've had so many issues with my Anycubic resin 3d printer, and for this and other reasons, have been considering an FDM/filament printer.
Is it fair to say that most printers in the $150-300 range are crap? I just saw on one of her LED necklace tutorials that @geekmomprojects uses the Prusa MINI+, and it seems like a good number of makers speak highly of that brand, so maybe that's where I'll look. But any tips on where else to look/stay away from are appreciated! #3dprinting#3dprinter#FDM
Manyfold v0.65.0 has been released! This release is all about #Accessibility, after our audit last week. There's a big pile of improvements around screen reading, keyboard navigation, colour, labelling, and so on, which will benefit everyone! More to come, too!
It's been great to be able to get some expert advice and then put time into this, thanks to NLNet and @NGIZero. It's a rare opportunity in open source!
Glad to hear! After developing this bot, people informed me that we have a large group of people dependent on it in the 3D printing community. Hope this helps them out. Thanks for the work.
Tech! Happily 3D printed just in time for #TheBadBatch series to (sadly) end, this is @Playactiontoys's latest action figure release. Created with a perfect array of Polymaker PLA colors on https://twitch.tv/MakerDeck live!
#3DPrinting If you bought my Filament Stackers on Printables please know that there are new models available, including a "medium", and "tall" version, all 3 of those without styling, AND 3 different heights of "Stackable Shims".
#Cults3D people should be receiving an email with details automatically. Printables doesn't give me the option to notify people who bought it of updates without manually messaging each of them. 🤦♀️
As I keep thinking about this... A few days ago I stumbled upon the micronics SLS 3D printer which they promise to deliver for 3k$. So far they've released two videos about the printer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLqSaEiXzIU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SupuCvfviWQ
While they videos are a bit janky and the machines are clearly still in early prototype level, this does look quite interesting. #3dprinting
New video from Micronics... They're surprisingly open about some details about their printer. Also, they're about as far with the development of a product as I thought they might be.
