The #BostonBlueBikes Bike Angel economy is broken. Prior to the app update, my highest month ever was around 30 points, but today alone I was able to snag 40 points. I'm not complaining, mind you, as I continue to not have to pay for a membership. #BikeBoston#BikeShare
I missed this article on Lyft's bizarre admission that they bought Motivate (big city #bikeshare operator) to sell taxi rides to bikers.
"We haven't done the job we need to do to make sure that every time a person rides the bike, they get welcomed into the Lyft ecosystem, and frankly, welcomed into the rideshare side of things"
You know, exactly the opposite of why people use bikeshare.
I love that #BlueBikes has a 24hr pass for $10 w/ unlimited 2 hour rides. Amtrak charges $20 (each way) to bring a bike, so doing #bikeshare makes a lot more sense.
Meanwhile, #Citibike's 24hr pass is twice as expensive ($19) and only allows 30min rides. :(
Less car trips are better for the environment and so is #bike commuting. In this article #NYC is featured prominently, but that is not the only American city that is seeing a surge.
We can attribute the growth to #BikeShare services or people buying their own #bicycle, either way, it is good for the head, the body and the community. Less #pollution, less #CO2
Got one of the new Seat Post Adjusters on my #BostonBlueBike ride this morning. Locking is pulling it down (as shown), unlocking is pulling it up. I've had a few of the old ones where they were tough to get moving, so hopefully the new design helps with accessibility! #BikeBoston#BikeShare
