Post Office Chair alleges a top civil servant told him to delay (effectively withhold) compensation.

Just like the suspect erasure of Johnson's Covid WhatsApp messages yet another indicator of senior civil servants acting politically to protect the Tory Party. Seeing GB News refers to the UK's civil service as the blob and plenty of Tory ministers flaunt breaking rule of law and engage openly in cronyism I fail to understand such unrequited loyalty. #GTTO

The Tories are only interested in winning. No matter what.
They need to win to stay in power.
They need to stay in power so they are not prosecuted for the crimes they have committed whilst they were in power.
THE PARTY HAVE ZERO INTEREST IN GOVERNING FOR THE PEOPLE.

"UK economy has turned a corner - Sunak"- gov is "celebrating" that inflation held at 4%.
This is NOT a win for anyone, as they constantly fail to remind us that despite the fact there was no increase in inflation today doesn't mean prices are falling - they're just rising less quickly.

Potatoes: December up 9.6%, January up 7.1% - price increase is slower NOT down.
Bread: December 2.2%, January 2.1% - price increase is slower NOT down.

There are (at least) three groups of voters whom is alienating with his continued tacit support for the :

  1. A majority of Muslims;
  2. A substantial number of Jews;
  3. A much broader community of people with a strong commitment to human rights and an ethical foreign policy.

These groups are not individually electorally significant, but taken together they may be.

Before 2010 - All UK governments combined borrowed only £1tn.

2010-2024 (14 years) - Tories borrowed (added) another £1.6tn.

So, in the first 2000 years, the money bought everything we have today.

In the last 14 Tory years, the money has just vanished...

Figures released next week by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) are expected to show that in the fourth quarter of 2023, the economy contracted by 0.1%, after also shrinking by 0.1% in the third quarter

That would mean the UK was in a recession. Not a technical recession a full-blown recession.

The second of Sunak's pledges was “to grow the economy, creating better-paid jobs and opportunity right across the country”.

ONS figures have shown the 1st drop in life expectancy since WW2 and that mortality rates for the over-70s have been rising since 2018 when they stopped falling for the first time since the war. Also the proportion of UK's financial assets owned by people under 40 has halved since 2010.

I can't imaginethe common factor in all that, nor what type of government might be attracted to the unrealistic, impractical and inhumane findings of this bit of number-crunching.
