UK General Election set for July 4th, 2024.

We must crush the bones of the Tories into dust. They must be eliminated, eviscerated, destroyed. Made a non-thing. Written out of the book of life.

Rotten stuff from a rotten party. We need to throw them out.

This for me is the last 14 years of Tory rule in a photo.

Nasty, brutish, and ill-tempered. And soon, thank god, it will be over.

I once read somewhere that all films are essentially one of two premises: a stranger comes to town, or a person goes on a journey.

Can anyone think of any obvious exceptions to this rule? I'm struggling 😊

This is a precise encapsulation from Sam Freedman about what is coming with Jeremy Hunt's statement.

I wish I could agree with Freedman that it will be "a profound insult to voters’ intelligence" but I fear many won't see it this way. They will see the Government as being "fiscally responsible" 🙄

The absolute state of this.

Tory MP is asked to name one thing that works better than it did 14 years ago. "Basically you can't answer the question".

Having the Tories in charge is bad for the health of your country 😞

From Peter Geoghegan:

'The more I think about it, the more I think this is a complete scandal.

Donors can now give £11,200 to British political parties anonymously, while parties can spend more than ever.

Welcome to the dark money election - brought to you by the Tory government'

"What do we do about free speech when it is so widely abused? We should still do, with renewed vigour, what we have always needed to do: to answer bad speech with better speech, to counter false narratives with better narratives, to answer hate with love, and to believe that the truth can still succeed even in an age of lies."

Tories gonna Tory. Don't they ever get tired of it? You have to conclude being disingenuous & deceptive is energising for them 🤷‍♂️

The move intensifies Sunak’s newfound and controversial electoral strategy: binning Britain’s bolder emissions-cutting policies and picking fights with activists, in a gamble that the confrontation will appeal to traditional Conservative voters."

I want to give the biggest shoutout to local climate activist group Climate Action Leicester and Leicestershire who have been involved to getting my local council to pass a motion declaring they want to end investment in fossil producing companies!

Awesome! It makes me feel proud & excited to see climate activism like this at the local level
