👻 Job boards are still rife with 'ghost jobs'. What's the point? - BBC
「 More than 40% of hiring managers said they list jobs they aren't actively trying to fill to give the impression that the company is growing. A similar share said the job listings are made to motivate employees, while 34% said the jobs are posted to placate overworked staff who may be hoping for additional help to be brought on 」
Five months into #unemployment I still have no job despite having applied to over 500 roles, often with internal referrals from my network. If anyone on here has any connections that are hiring data roles I'd love an intro. Here's my LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thetim/#jobsearch
Hey all! Do you love #Android and #ChromeOS? Our team is #hiring! We’re looking for a developer advocate (we call them Developer Relations Engineers) to join our team in Silicon Valley or NYC. You'll help developers optimize their Android apps for ChromeOS, teach them about large screen Android, work with us to build a happy and thriving ChromeOS developer ecosystem, and more!
My most recent work was as a contracts negotiator, including NDA and DPA, for a Danish tech company.
Please let me know if you know about an opportunity in a great work environment, or if you know someone who could point me in the right direction to find a role that aligns with my skills and values.
looks like my job is turning the screws again to see how much burnout they can get away with causing before it makes them look bad (ie, affects the bottom line). "it's only for the next couple months" they say... heard that line before. 🙄🖕
anyone got the lowdown on, or tips for finding, ethically-aligned software engineer jobs to apply to? perhaps ones where I wouldn't be the only queer or femme person on the dev team? ideally with projects that serve a remotely meaningful purpose rather than just making money for investors?
feels like they're so few and far between, it's really discouraging. the places I know of rarely hire and have an overwhelming applicant pool. everything else feels like a high risk of "out of the frying pan, into the fire"
It was fun to reminisce and fill it. As it is a generic CV, many different things are in there. I still have plans to expand it, but I think it is ripe for feedback now. Feedback is welcome here or through the link in the footer of the site, where you also find a link to the template. #FediHire#jobs#JobSearch#GetFediHired
Wait, so even though they send us alerts like this, we’re not suppose to set up surveillance on the people who searched for our profile? ‘Cause not doing that anymore would really free up a lot of my time and money.
A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn and asked me to fill a form with some information about my skills.
Only, instead of a direct link, he gave a link to a redirector. With ads...
WITH! BLOODY! ADS!
Sorry, mate. I'm not that desperate. You and your company are on my shitlist. If you're willing to violate my trust from the get go, imagine if I took the job...
