Our kid watching Superbowl asked "Dad, why is nobody wearing a mask?"

I don't understand why my pre-teen gets it, and the majority of the country doesn't.

Our personal risk appitite is moderate. We eat out at restaurants, and may go maskless outside, or even inside with a few friends. But at school, and pretty much any crowds, or inside public spaces, we .

Yeah, fogging glasses is annoying, but it seems a ridiculously cost-effective step in mitigating risk.

I wore a mask yesterday.

I went to a medical appointment in a hospital and I wore it the whole time and I waited for the empty elevator.

Despite getting vaccinated I already caught this year. I don't want the again or

Not wearing a during -19 health emergency isn’t a right, appeals court says https://apnews.com/article/108abf877288999f34d1c604b731d34c

This is actually an important . Wonder if there will be further appeal?

If you are attending a Conference and not wearing an or better, you might as well be logging into an unencrypted webpage with a password... while you're at Defcon.

Where does this figure of 3397 deaths come from? According to the link you provide above, the figure is 936 deaths. (WHO on your linked source)
Or have I read something wrong?

You may have heard surgical masks protect against COVID and other airborne viruses, but N95 masks are safer due to better fit and filtration.

whn, to random

Did you know…

Surgical masks are leaky due to poor fit and filtration. N95 respirators offer a much better fit and filtration for better protection.

In the emergency room, not many people are wearing masks. Some have surgical masks pulled down below their nose.🙄

Sorry about your Dad taking a fall. Hope he heals easily and quickly. Also hope your FIL is OK.
Our lives revolve around my Dad and his issues, too. It takes a team.
Unfortunately, most doctors and their offices, and the ER staff do not here either. Or it's under their noses. It makes you concerned to discover what other science is being intentionally ignored by these "professionals".
Sending patience and good health to you and yours.

Hi peeps, I'm after UK info, my wife has MRI lower abdomen soon and have been reading what I can on ffp2 mask use during procedure, a few posts saying patients will be given approved mask rather than anything brought in because fears of metal components/contaminants, anyone know if this is the case?
For info. these are what we're using and I'll be checking the nose clip but feels plastic, all else is welded.

Anyone know of a high quality "window" mask to allow lipreading? Last time I spoke at a convention, I used an FFP2 window mask that worked fine, but it doesn't seem to be made any more. I anticipate speaking at in Glasgow in August.

Are you one of the hundreds of millions of people recently infected with in December, but are now "recovered"?

Guess what, your immune system probably is not. And won't be for a while. A damaged immune system leaves you much more susceptible to other infections. So maybe put on an n95/kf94 in crowds and public places?

It's perfectly possible that Bill Mitchell is gasping for air when he puts on a mask. It just isn't caused by the mask physically making breathing difficult. The technical term for it is "conversion disorder".

At this point, I know maybe 6 or 7 people (8 if you include me) irl, that haven't been infected with #Covid19.

Every time I tell people I've never gotten #Covid , they seem shocked.

All the people I know who are #Novid do at least 2 of the following.

  • Not spending time indoors unmasked around others that aren't in their "bubble." If they do see people outside their bubble, they try to do stuff outside. If it has to be indoors, everyone must #MaskUp when inside

  • Don't spend a lot of time in public places indoors - especially when there are crowds.

  • Having common shared agreements about #CovidPrecautions with the people they do see unmasked (usually about 3 people total - sometimes less - and it's pretty much always the people they live with).

  • #Masking in public using high-quality and well fitted masks (N95/KF94/KN95) - everyone I know who has remained Covid free is doing this.

I've watched basically every single person I know catch Covid, some of them multiple times, and it gets harder for me to comprehend how myself and others are screaming from the rooftops about #LayersOfProtection , yet they're still not #MaskingUp.

It's honestly just exhausting at this point because not only can the social isolation get you down sometimes, but I'm also just tired of seeing my friends get sick.

CookieCat,

Also,

A trust is broken when I watch people I love refuse to do something as simple as wear a to protect others from .

Like - people keep saying things like, "How can we get out of this hellscape?", and it's just - its really as simple as making sure you .

Literally, that alone centers community care and solidarity and is a very simple action item that protects yourself and others.

Instead, the same people I know claiming they're against and , and say we can never trust the government (which obviously yeah), just dropped masking completely as soon as began the / approach.

We can't have any kind of if yall can't put on a mask.

Anyone out there with technical expertise (like academic / trade / scientific qualification) on technology, specifically about sealing, pressure, airflow, path of least-resistance, and silicone masks, like etc, please get in contact - I have a couple of specific questions with regards to long-term solutions for immune-compromised folks, and they're not questions someone trying to sell me a mask solution is able or willing to answer. Thanks.
