This morning I made a last-minute decision to change the name of a new robot character in Frozen Heck, the fourth book in the Starship Teapot series. I really don't know why I ever called her anything else.
I've been feeling nostalgic lately and watching videos about Red Dwarf, because there's a certain segment of the US who grew up watching it when PBS brought it over to the US market and now it's like TV "comfort food."
Anyway, three things about this nostalgia binge:
I didn't know Patrick Stewart was aware of the show, much less a fan. Seeing "Captain Picard" do a Rimmer salute blew my mind.
I didn't know there was a US pilot. I'm kind of glad it didn't get picked up, honestly.
I just realized I've never tasted Indian food. And yet, somehow, all the talk of different curry dishes is making my mouth water. I don't even know if I'd like them...
No, Kryten, it is not "aye ess see two". The II in ASCII is II, not 2. Indeed, it is before the insane days when people turned two letters in a row such as II in to I².
Thanks to @rayhindle for reminding me of this quote by #scifi writer Arthur C Clarke. But it occurs to me that it's a pretty vacuous subject to worry about. Anyway, I'm off to watch another episode of #RedDwarf...
@jann Whilst i don't dispute your statement, i just wanna give Highly Honourable Mentions to two other Pommy #ScFi shows, albeit outright comedies, that i also adore:
@grumpygamer would you ever consider a #VR#PointAndClick#adventure#game for the latest crop of standalone VR headsets? I think that a sailing (or I suppose space-ship a la #RedDwarf's Starbug) simulator where one is winched between the decks of little boats and desert islands might be right up Mr Threepwood's alley :P to be sure, any adventure game in which the protagonist was in a wheelchair might allow a more 'boundless' VR point and click.
Thank you for your tireless work in game development!
Jupiter Mining Corporation is the organisation that abandoned it's ship Red Dwarf after an accident killed all the crew bar Lister (yes even Kochanski) and Diva Droid is also from the Red Dwarf Universe, it's the corporation that built Kryten.
