Last May, the U.S. military said it killed a senior al Qaeda leader in an airstrike in Syria. Now, it is admitting it killed a civilian. A U.S. Central Command probe confirmed 2023 media reports that the victim was Lutfi Hassan Masto, who was grazing sheep at the time. The investigation summary did not recommend any action for accountability for killing a civilian. CBS News has more.
