I'm there for work (a cool #OpenScience event organised by @HeidiSeibold) so sadly I won't have tonnes of capacity for socialising (otherwise I'd be #CouchSurfing) but I will have some capacity, and all the #Airbnb options look pretty dull and soulless...
Another Christmas decoration for my sister when she moved in to her #TinyHouse. I sent it to her in pieces and didn't tell her what it all was. (I also sent her a photo with each of the disks under different sized coffee mugs as a misleading bit of entertainment. 😇)
2023 Year in Review (Also, a few interior photos of my tiny house, pardon the mess😂)
My life is generally best characterized as small, slow and steady, I suspect a sharp contrast to most. If you're someone primarily interested in a tech oriented accounting you should skip to the last section. What comes before that is fairly comprehensive and even a bit philosophical in nature. I'm mostly writing this for myself so...
@pvonhellermannn Yes! Sometime awhile back I'd had a thought to start using this hashtag or something similar but it slipped my mind and I just continued using #ClimateEmergency. But I really think #ClimateDiary is a meaningful complement to demonstrate how we work to adapt. Will use it going forward with new posts! I've been living in a #TinyHouse for most of the past 15 years. I love it.
One of several projects I have going… awnings for my tiny windows to block the brutal sunshine in the summer! I’ve gathered the fabric, hooks and all, hand-sewing rather than using the machine. My plan is to make 4 total. I assembled TP rolls to create “rods” and mocked up a paper POC. First fabric shade is finished and I’m working on the 2nd. Mounting each to the house with French cleats is next. It’s been a super fun process! #tinyHouse#windows#makeYourOwnShade#maker#handmade#sewing
Our #tinyhouse is getting a heat pump and we need a nice cover for it. So my partner and I are building a case and the vent covers are receiving a #generative classic: a voronoi pattern. 🤌
#tinyhouse#nyc Garden level Studio apartment, bathroom has skylight w/ plenty of sunshine, conveniently located near subway $4200/mo. 3 months deposit and credit check required.
Last september, my #landlord decided to double my #rent, effectively kicking me out of my #home of 11 years. I fell into #depression. Luckily my parents own a plot of #land, and thus, with my dads help, i set off to build a #tinyhouse without rent. After 4 months and several tens of thousands of dollars of materials (which i raised by selling old #videogame collectables), i am ready to move in.
No clue if anyone is interested, but I'm selling a #tinyhouse I built. Please boost if you have a mind to!

doing some #maintenance on my #Arcade#Cabinet before moving it into my #TinyHouse. I've been working on this arcade cabinet for over 20 years now, I got it when I was 13 years old from a warehouse where it was rotting away for $25. It was originally a #Wonderboy cabinet from #Sega. I have full #JAMMA wiring inside and it runs real boards, but there is also a modern #PC inside for #Steam releases like #MortalKombat. The #Marquee animates, which is my favorite part!
Got this panel for the wood stove flue finished yesterday and it is HEAVY. I was mistaken about material requirements so it is needlessly full of fiber cement, but maybe it will act as a thermal mass and help even the heating.
