@rodhilton If ye hand o'er yer phone then you just helped the fascist cunt violate yer 4th Amendment rights. They can see the screen but cannae tooch the phone wi'oot expressed probable cause or a search warrant specifying yer phone, signed by a judge. #FourthAmendment#ACAB
I mean, this is cool, but can we please retire this fucking misogynist “virgin birth” language? It’s makin’ me nuts. What happened here is parthenogenesis, not some hokey miraculous divine intervention, and reptiles do it all the time. The whole benighted concept of “virginity” has for eons been nothing but an instrument of violent patriarchal abuse.
And while we’re at it: crocs lay eggs, they don’t “give birth.”
@futurebird Ha! I’m all #ACAB all the time these days, but back in the Aughts the commentariat of my radical feminist blog nearly canceled me for flippantly using the word “bastard” in some jokey pejorative context one time. Those ladies were hardcore.
Not yet 17, I disobeyed my parents and drove to the police barricades at the far end of Osage Avenue after nightfall, as close as I could get to the bombing – I needed to see it with my own two eyes. The overwhelming memory I carried away with me, though, was olfactory, and not visual: I promise you that nobody within a five-mile radius of West Philadelphia that night will ever quite be able to get the smell of that murder out of their nostrils. It’s 38 years gone by and it feels like yesterday.

> By August 29 [1921] the battle was fully underway. [Sheriff] Chafin's men, though outnumbered, had the advantage of higher positions and better weaponry. Private planes were hired to drop homemade bombs on the miners. A combination of poison gas and explosive bombs left over from World War I were dropped in several locations...
The Trump indictment is very funny, and the boxes in the bathroom are very funny, and the obscenely tacky decor is very funny, so you might think this cannot get any funnier.
I assure you it can. It can get much much funnier.
Trump could try to flee the country. Just think of the comedy that would bring. Please Jesus I have never prayed, but I ask only for this thing
@emilygorcenski They stopped him from going to the capitol building on #Jan6! Absolutely, in this narrow instance of upholding the Constitution of the US. Are they Bastards? Yes, because #ACAB.

In diesem Moment fallen zahlreiche Schüsse. "Ich verstehe nicht, warum überhaupt geschossen wurde. Der konnte doch nirgends hin, er steckte fest. Die Straße war dicht mit Polizeiautos." "
I’m going to make myself perfectly clear. I’m not the problem here. Me wanting a #fediverse that is open to everyone as long as they aren’t conducting themselves in harmful manners isn’t wrong. People shouldn’t have to conform to the fediverse. The fediverse was made up by various people from all over. The fediverse should be flexible and versatile. Something for everyone. It’s not real freedom when being told to get away from Big Social but you have users telling you how to be within the Fediverse. There should be opt-in/opt-out experiences. As long as transparent & not harmful instances should be able to provide for themselves as they see fit, without backlash. Who are you to tell anyone how to keep their lights on? This gatekeeping & HOA attitude also has to stop, it creates an unsafe environment. It’s sad when people choose to go back to Big Social b/c at least they have safety in using the platform how they see fit. They shouldn’t have to be the product of predatory practices b/c of jerk behaviour from members of the Fediverse. This place is evolving irrespective to those that don’t like it. #mastodon#calckey#lemmy#kbin

This is something I wish more americans understood. The "job" of policing is not to keep everyday people safe, it's to protect the property and interests of the capitalist class, with violence.
That's why they will let school children get gunned down during the day, then use every violent tool at their disposal against protesters at night. #ACAB
Having lived in #Southampton for perhaps far too long, this doesn't surprise me.
The only question is whether Soton does something substantive about it.
"#HongKong protesters allegedly attacked by #Chinese activists in Southampton...
"...One of the attackers, some of whom were said to be #UniversityOfSouthampton students, could be heard shouting in Mandarin: “Hong Kong belongs to #China” and waving what appeared to be the Chinese flag..."
