https://archive.org/search?query=creator%3A%22Koji+Asano%22

là, à l'instant même j'écoute The Last Shade Of Evening Falls 3/4 disponible à l'adresse ci-dessus. Mais bon, je préfère vous prévenir : Vianney, à côté, c'est un peu Taylor Swift quoi. SI vous comprenez ce que je veux dire.

@waldokanto , connais-tu ce musicien japonais qui a aussi travaillé avec ?

Does slow feed torrents so torrents don't get stopped?

I've a torrent that's been locked at 91% for days

I can go to their website &download as fast as my browser &internet will let me but when I use a , it seems to totally rely on everyone else that may be seeding that torrent. If they slow fed, I could have gotten the 90% elsewhere &the last 9 from them slowly or is it my issue

Do I start over &just download 100% from them to get the file–use their bandwidth? @textfiles

Man at fence screaming let me in and shaking his head in a panicky way

Remember this post of mine, a walkthrough of how to use Nitter, archive.org, and archive.ph to fully archive tweets (including tweets higher and lower in the thread)? https://kolektiva.social/ Well, since I made that post, two things have happened:

  • Archive.ph stopped saving archive.org captures of nitter.net

  • Nitter shut down

It's now just about impossible to properly archive tweets. You can still right click and save the page, and you can still use archiveweb.page, but they're so much less user-friendly and so much harder to share.

sob I failed to move some direct wayback downloads from my old server to my new one. and I don't have .bash_history from the old server too 😭
Archiving fail!! I knew I should've just thrown it in my ArchiveBox

jasonnab,

https://github.com/hartator/wayback-machine-downloader this is what I use for single Wayback page downloading. Very easy to use with podman as well.

Something I realized while sourcing images by Pixiv id--

what a brilliant idea, it goes right to the image AND artist, and pixiv by default saves the ID as part of the file name! Almost 0 western sites do that!

But the thing is, artists are...singular creatures. I've encountered a stunning amount of dead links that way.

Forgive me for sounding anti-artist but the only way to properly long-term link a piece of online art is an archive site--archive.org or a booru or such.

SirTapTap,
@SirTapTap@mastodon.social avatar

Of course 0 respect for online ANYTHING is hardly unique to artists. I check my Broken Link Checker for sirtaptap.com somewhat often, and almost always some commentor's URL has gone dead, a site that pinged me back no longer exists, etc.

There are explicit instructions in my will to keep my website and content online to the best of my executor's ability. And aside from my video content--it's really not hard or expensive to keep this stuff up on a Potato.

Pretty wild, archive.org has the full movie of They Live on it for free stream or download (https://archive.org/details/they-live-1988).

The ghoul speaking to the rich assholes near the end says "Our projections show that by the year 2025, not only America but the entire planet will be under the protection and dominion of this 'power alliance'. The gains have been substantial both for ourselves, and for you-- the human power elite."

Good Creative Commons licensed music from the 2000s and 2010s is disappearing behind digital fences: archive.org hasn't backed up everything and Jamendo (the main site for CC music at that time) is requesting a signup for the "free download".

This just shows that centralised private services cannot be trusted for archiving the cultural heritage of mankind. All of Youtube could be gone tomorrow as well.

The Austrian National Library has sent me an email today. They are going to archive my grocery price tracking site in the coming days. It will be part of our national archives.

Legally, that means scientific institutions have now proper access to the data.

Turns out my decision to do everything client side was a good one. It's just a handful of static files, the rest is done client-side in JavaScript.

They use the same software as archive.org. Works well there.

Love it when a plan works.

@badlogic Great! /cc textfiles@mastodon.archive.org

In other news: I just found out has their own instance. I just cannot find an official account for archiv.org itself (there).

Seems the FTP server is dead... which took a LOT of old manuals with it. Not sure HOW long it's been gone, but it's certainly not on archive.org...

ftp://ftp.brother.ca/

Does anyone have archives or manual downloads from there?

Looking fruitlessly for this one in particular.

Levy-yhtiöt haastoivat oikeuteen netin epävirallisen arkiston eli Internet Archiven.

Kiistan keskiössä ovat ikivanhat savikiekolle äänitetyt musiikit, joita Archive.org on digitoinut ja arkistoinut. Levy-yhtiöt vaativat korvauksina arkistolta noin 340 miljoonaa euroa.

Have you ever read the book "John Brown's Body" by Benét, Stephen Vincent?

It's on Archive.org, but I have limited time and curious if it's good.

I was cleaning up a used 3DS I bought, and found some old animations on it. I figure most of these are already archived on sites like https://archive.sudomemo.net , but might as well ensure we're covered here.
(I have no way to contact sudomemo either as I don't use twitter)

I've put them in a ZIP file on
