    @miojao @Blender @GIMP I use them most days.

    I'm often using @kdenlive for non-linear video editing as well, but starting to play around in the Blender video editor more.

    Blender in particular continues to amaze me with it's scope, excellence, and community.

    Posting a WIP in some kind of vain attempt at forcing myself to actually finish something. Trying out some combat animation for a change of scenery. Very roughly blocked gimbal-fest atm. Might add a few poses at the start and I'd like the attackee to look more resistant rather than so ragdoll-y. LOT of clean up required, but enjoying it so far.

I DID practice Judo for 13 years though, so I feel like i have some authority on the subject. And the aches and pains to prove it. Throw. Its a throw.

    Late night mograph. This took a bunch of compression to get down to posting size. Pretty happy with the results overall.

    I had a minor freakout, because at one point, the animation wasn't lining up anymore, and it turns out I'd changed a setting on the wrong node cuz it's late and I'm punchy.

    Tiny spheres spin in a swarm, and come together to form a five, which glows. Then they expand back out, and form a 4, then a 3, then a 2, then a 1. Then it loops, because I had no exit strategy.

    Another one of those "not the most interesting animation in the world" kinda deals, but considering that I just systematically broke (uhhh, I mean... rebuilt) all the key parts of my tools, I'm really just ecstatic this worked.

    A blue cube bounces up and down, spins around, and inflates and deflates.

    ...but then I'm like.... what if I attach my Skew node to this? Aaaand what if I then have a Sine Loop animating the Skew? And what if I do that to all possible Skew planes simultaneously?

    Turns out it looks pretty cool.

    Much like the last one... but much not. Cubes swoop in and out and spin, but the shape of their formation shifts wildly, skewing in various directions. It's visually quite odd.

    Evening mograph. I really dunno what. Hey, watch me compress this crumpled piece of paper into glowing eldritch energy, while the pebbles scattered around grow into rather angry crystals.

    As described. This crumpled thing glows blue, shrinks and swirls into a little ball while sparkles dance around it, and all the nearby pebbles become weird reddish hellscape crystals.

    Anyone have any advice regarding Blender updates and backwards compatibility issues?

    I've been trying to open a project that opens fine on 3.4 but completely crashes with no error message on 3.5. The only possible issue I can think of is that I have a hair particle simulation on that project compared to others on my system.

    Recreating e1m1 as a medieval castle. I started the new project today and imported two sections. Dropped in a few light sources and created a simple character controller. Tomorrow I'll pull in the rest of the level sections.
