Loving all the attention to Bob Marley due to the One Love movie. Great to hear Redemption Song on our CBC information Morning show and another chance to tell people about the Nova Scotia connection to the song.
We were talking about @Flipboard storyboard formats and layout the other day. Here’s an example of a storyboard with sections that help tell the Bob Marley story and legacy.
I just went to see the movie yesterday. I am his biggest fan. I revamped this “old” storyboard. As I said earlier a magazine never dies it just takes on a new life. #flipboard#curation#content#community#bobmarley#music
I absolutely loved, loved Bob Marley. The music is great and it took me back to my childhood. I must have purchased 4 copies of Exodus at the time. I had to, I played Bob Marley so often the cassette broke (who knows what this is?) #bobmarley#music#reggae#movies#exodus#entertainment
Bob Marley’s “Legend” was released 40 years ago and has sold more than 25 million copies. The Ringer explains how the story that Legend tells about Marley continues to shape his legacy. But for some, it’s still not telling the right story. https://flip.it/woOiIg #Culture#Entertainment#BobMarley#Music#Reggae
Since #BobMarley’s death, his family has been cashing in: You can buy licensed Bob Marley backpacks, Bob Marley jigsaw puzzles, Bob Marley flip-flops – even Bob Marley hot sauce. And now a highly anticipated Bob Marley biopic, opens in theaters today.
Can T-shirts and other apparel help spread his messages? Perhaps.
But, as scholar Mike Alleyne points out, Marley hot sauce does not.
@RollingStone describes Bob Marley as "a cornerstone of 21st-century music, covered by countless singers, sampled and quoted by just as many hip-hop acts whose artistic DNA is shaped profoundly by the Jamaican music Marley defined." Ahead of the release of the biopic "Bob Marley: One Love," here's the magazine's list of his 100 greatest songs, including deep cuts, live highlights and other gems.

Rest In Power to the brilliant bassist Aston "Family Man" Barrett, who provided so many of the iconic low end lines and grooves that powered classics by Bob Marley & The Wailers, Burning Spear, Peter Tosh, The Upsetters, Alpha Blondy, and numerous others. Thank you for the music Maestro Barrett! #music#bassguitar#reggae#restinpeace#bobmarley
I think this is the first time I've heard the original album version of "No Woman No Cry" (most folks think of the live version: much slower, church-y organ, lots more backup vocals).
While the more familiar version is, of course, great in its way, I really like this version!
MUCH more up-tempo & is that actually a drum machine? 😂
I like to act brave and stuff, I tend to think that my best trait is just being resilient and handling pain and fear and anger as well as anyone can.
But, like, the idea of a #BobMarley#biopic#movie has me shook to the core and I dont know if I will ever recover. This is going to be an Adam Driver level hate-obsession.
