It’s been a while since my last post - and for the past 12 months here in the south, the local Oxfam has given me 15 blank sealed cassette tapes. It’s about 1 tape a month. Not bad #cassette#cassettes
This new (last) #Beatles song '#NowAndThen' is really quite good. And it's totally amazing how they grabbed #JohnLennon's vocal from an old #Cassette#Tape. The band really did get back together one last time.
"If you wanted to record a cassette, you didn’t need anyone’s permission.
This was a quietly radical thing, [in the 60s and 70s] when cassette recorders first emerged. Most other forms of audio or moving-image media required a lot of capital infrastructure.
More importantly, a cassette recorder was both the mechanism of production and reception. Very few other media worked that way back then."
FINALLY! I finished editing and posted my new video. Beginning as a simple restoration, having footage added to it throughout the week, it completed as 'My History With Walkman/Personal Stereos'.
