My cuke-nado is coming along nicely. 3 plants in a 1.5x1.5 foot planter. Pretty soon it will be warm out again and the 'nado will be all alone in the tent. (It likes it that way.) #garden#cucumber#gardening
We have two new speakers. One of them will be talking about #Drupal and #CloudFlare and the other oneis the creator of a $NodeJS behavior driven automation testing tool based on #Cucumber and #puppeteer
This is, what girls admire boys for (or their statues): a big #cucumber in their shorts. 😆
(As a local newspaper was writing about that #statue of an international football heroe born on #Madeira 🙈)
#Gardening question, please help!
I think our #Cucumber has “downy mildew”.
(But it could also be something else - let me know if you know what)
I’ve found confusing information about how to treat it. Often the info is about “powdery mildew” instead. I don’t think that’s what this is?
I also don’t want to kill any of the nice insects that we have around.
Examples of the things I’ve read:
(x) spray with some mixture of non-fat milk and water
(x) spray with mixture of neem oil and water
(x) spray with mixture of baking soda, dish soap and water
(x) remove all the infected leaves
(x) just trim some leaves
(x) do nothing and hope that it goes away.
Anyone here has experience with it and can recommend a tested treatment? 🙏
Edit: fixed formatting because IceCubesApp changed it - sorry for those who already boosted and thank you!
Well, a week after I let the #chickens into one of the #cucumber beds, and the plants seem to have been merely inconvenienced. I dug two huge sneakers out of the tossed-around mulch, plus a bunch of poorly pollinated young cukes. These can go to the #equines as snacks.
What's a food that you didn't like as a child, but enjoy as an adult? I'll go first- Cucumbers! As a child I hated the smell of them and thought they tasted like dirt. I don't know what happened, but now, I eat them straight off the garden vine as a snack or sometimes a quick meal #randomquestions#food#cucumber#garden#vegetables#summer
An Armenian #Cucumber is starting its way up the wall. It also has a blossom which I'll remove to force it to generate more. Didn't do that last time and it grew a single large cuke rather than multiple.
These have a nice light melon-like flavour added to the usual cuke taste.
