The list of supported RAW file formats in #NeoFinder 8.6 is getting longer and longer, and this time we have added the Olympus ".ORI" format to be cataloged, with thumbnails and metadata...
You could add a visual textual watermark to your converted and exported images and photos in #NeoFinder before, but now you can also add a watermark image as well!
It’s so sad that I can no longer share my photos online without also involuntarily training future #AI models.
I’ve been playing with #Nightshade to “poison” my images against training, but the tool introduces quite a lot of distortion and artifacts that grate on my nerves. I guess this is the immediate future for us, until someone discovers a way to poison images in a way that is less visible to humans.
Here’s an example. The first image is an original, and the second is one that has been poisoned by Nightshade.
The third is one poisoned to a “low” degree. It’s OKAY—it’s not great, but it’s not as bad. I wonder how effective a “low” setting is versus a “default” setting.
I’m looking forward to a #Nightshade CLI tool so I can write a #Lightroom plugin that will apply Nightshade on export, or batch apply it to a set of photos that will show up on my online gallery.
Yes, #NeoFinder can #catalog#thumbnails and metadata of #Apple#ProRAW photo files!
And you can add ratings, keywords, descriptions and all, too.
And convert these files to other formats.
And check every pixel in the Light Table.
And build beautiful web galleries with them…
Sun in clouds and haze over the San Ysidro Mountains, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, California; March 2024.
(blend of four exposures at ISO 64, f/16 — 1/32000s for the disc of the sun, 1/8000s for the areas around the sun, 1/400s for the edge of clouds/mountains, 1/200s for the darker parts of the mountains)
Walking my dog last night and thought the full moon looked a little lopsided. Turns out it was grazing the edge of the Earth’s shadow- I’d completely forgotten about the penumbral lunar eclipse!
(Also a shout-out to the #lightroom app’s camera- this was first time I’ve ever been able to get a properly exposed picture of the moon from my iPhone)
If you have a network installation with multiple users on different Macs and PCs, make sure to use at least version #NeoFinder 8.5.2, which synchronizes the global keywords list from the Controlled Vocabulary much better, and is able to detect changes made to the list by other NeoFinder for Mac or #abeMeda for Windows instances.
For #MeerMittwoch here's a sunrise with colorful pink clouds over the ocean and the strange coastal rock formations at Windansea Beach in La Jolla, California; photographed in February 2024.
"I have just abandoned Digikam. Both fail badly with large collections of 10,000+ photos. Incidentally, NeoFinder is much faster and more reliable than Digikam and much more versatile than Apple Photos.
[NeoFinder] is the best solution for almost everything of professional complexity." James W., Canada
