Argh. It looks like my Amplifi Mesh is dying. I’m disappointed with this outcome even if I’ve generally liked the product. What are you using these days? I can’t believe the price point between WiFi 6 ($300) and WiFi 7 ($2000) is worth it. #wifi#mesh
My living room TV area (AppleTV, Nintendo Switch, etc) is connected to a #TPLink#Omada EAP620 meshed with another EAP620 wired to the rest of my network. It's an island, basically. The speed isn't up to the standard I would expect.
I'm replacing them with EAP773 access points. I don't have #Wifi7 devices, but this should make a Wifi7 #mesh. Which should exceed my needs for some time.

Hatte von euch schon mal jemand das Problem, dass beim Mesh der Fritz!Box hinter den Repeatern kein IPv6 funktioniert? An der Fritz!Box selbst geht es ohne Probleme und ich bin scheins gerade zu doof zum googeln.
Die Repeater laufen bei mir übrigens alle als AP, sind also per Cat7 oder Coax an der Fritz!Box, nicht per WLAN. Und sie zeigen in ihrer Oberfläche auch eine IPv6 an und sind per IPv6 pingbar.

I've been on the search for a #mesh#WiFi option that supports multiple SSID associated to tagged #VLAN, which span into the LAN. I do this now with #FreshTomato to my #pfSense router. But I need better WiFi coverage.
So far, it's looking like #OrbiPro and #DrayTek devices do this, but one isn't high on my expectations list and one isn't easily acquired in the US. So I'm trying the Orbi Pro and we'll see...

@geerlingguy awesome news and thanks for the great summary! I'm very curious if its PCIe might be suitable to turn it into a beefy (multi radio?) WiFi #mesh node for our #Freifunk project. Preferably with #Mediatek (or #Qualcomm) 802.11ax cards on #OpenWrt. The CPU power would be very handy for our encapsulating layer 2 mesh routing protocol #batman_adv and VPNs. And no more of this annoying too low flash/RAM sizes we frequently have with ordinary WiFi routers... #MeshNetwork
And one more update to the #brmldproxy integration in #Gluon: Added a patch to #batman_adv that avoids flooding #MLD reports when using brmldproxy in our specific scenario. Now that we got the link layer pretty quiet of broadcast flooded #IPv6#multicast packets it was too tempting to keep it that way :D. #scalability#mesh#MeshNetwork#Freifunk
