Event reminder, today Saturday 02 March, 2000 UTC.
Please join indie alt friends @allflowers for a watch party premiere of their new video for "Hey! This Way"
We'll go live with chat a bit ahead of the time with some Allflowers tunes as we assemble. We'll warm up at the top of the hour with a few of their other videos and roll into the premiere.
Hangout and chat with the band and RFF friends and artists if keen or just #joinIn and watch/listen.
Sudden realization: I used #Windows due to a flair of #OBS (SE.Live to be precise), but now that I don't use #StreamElements anymore (#Owncast rocks!)... Oh boy.
I should get a fresh new SSD and install once again #Linux. I've been out of the distro market for a year or so, I should also check up the news in this sector :geralt_lol:
wow i just heard about @owncast! I'm assuming twitch is everyone's go to because of discovery, but would be cool to not be on an Amazon service for streams! #owncast
Coming up in #Owncast v0.1.0 is an additional way for you to create custom action buttons for your interface. You could always point to remote resources as actions, but now you can just author them from scratch in HTML!
One fewer step required for you to build your own custom UI for tip jars, leader boards, 3rd party integrations or whatever you can think of. It's your server, go nuts.
Please join again as we cut the RFF #owncast video simulcast channel over to live in a few hours Wed 2100 US EST, Thur 0200 UTC for a live acoustic stream from @SabiLewSounds
We are going to have more chat hangouts and hopefully more live performances, busking, listening parties or whatever else in line with our ethos you'd like to use your community station platform to share. DM if you are keen.
I'm sure this has been asked many times, but how are people password protecting their @owncast streams?
Was about to use it for some students following from home but I don't want to make the stream public.
One way I suppose is to embed the stream in a password-protected page, but that still means the stream is public for those who figure out the stream url...
I leave in a couple of hours for #ubuntusummit. I'm super excited to have an opportunity to share #Owncast with a new group of people. If you have the chance to attend the event in Riga, I'd love for you to visit my talk on the 4th.
These are friendly for comradery and a perfect chance to interact with and directly support an awesome independent artist outside of the pressures of other platforms.
A huge thank you to @AKernelPanic for encouraging me to submit to #UbuntuSummit. I'm very appreciative I had an opportunity to share #Owncast with new people.
Help support independent artists by building and enjoying creative community. DM if you would like to propose an idea or use inline with RFF ethos for our audio or video community venues.
Join RFF and Blue Nagoon @bluenagoon for a world premiere watch party of their new music video for "Garden" featuring Alyssa Fischer.
We'll spin some Blue Nagoon tunes and videos, premiere the new one ~15 past the hour and the artist will be in chat for any questions and generally festive vibes ya'll usually bring.
Anyone on here who has been brave enough to start an OwnCast server...
I've never done this before but have an old Chromebook I could convert into a server. If I did so, would it likely be strong enough to hold up to occasional streaming endeavors or nah? I'd mostly be sharing some of my physical media with folks to watch together.
One thing I do miss from deleting my #Twitch account is the #Music section. There are some really talented people there streaming music. Are there any people out there streaming music via #Owncast?
