Today on Re-Creative (re-creative.ca) Joe and I talk to Mike McCormick, one of the founding members of the Arrogant Worms, Canada’s premier musical comedy trio. We cover everything from the vagaries of magnetic recording technologies to the audio formats that are best for scraping frosty windscreens to Aaron Copland’s seminal composition “Appalachian Spring.”
Absolute stress in the #NatureMatchCuts#podcast#studio. That's what you get when you talk to nature!
A delegation of angry #earthworms delivers a petition. It has to stop that my dog Bilbo breads their buddies in sand, dries them and abuses them as chewing gum. Even if he is one of the podcast stars.
They demand as reparation that I not only interview one creature but invite them to a panel discussion in the next edition! I was actually going to invite shrimp. Gardening animals ... #SciComm
Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson, joined host Kimberly Rhodes give an update on the 2021 kerfuffle at Basecamp around discussing politics and other contentious issues at work and on work communication channels.
"Dr. Aurelia Hölzer hat als Ärztin im letzten Jahr viel auf der Neumayer-Station III des Alfred-Wegener Instituts (#AWI), #Helmholtz-Zentrum für Polar- und Meeresforschung in der #Antarktis erlebt. ... Nun ist sie, nach dem #Leben im #Eis, zurück in Deutschland. Über Ihre unvergesslichen Erlebnisse, die Tiefen und Höhen der Exkursion und das Leben auf engem Raum spricht sie bei #3nach9."
I have a lot to say about #LAS2023, #Linux, and my old #podcast Linux For Everyone. So those thoughts might be scattered or confined to this thread, but here we go because things need to be said!
First: @sri was dead-on when he described LAS as a family reunion. Such a warmth and feeling of camaraderie to the event. I made new friends, new work connections, and forged some new pathways in my brain thanks to eye-opening talks.
Just canceled my #PocketCasts subscription, because, while I always enjoyed the app, the almost quadrupling in subscription cost is a bit insane.
On that note, does anybody know of a nice (preferably open source) #podcast player that has good sync support? Preferably one that has native clients on both #linux and #android. Separate apps that sync together well is also fine.
Let's all congratulate - and thank - Sidney Powell for getting Tucker Carlson fired. Because of the many final straws in this sad man's case, the MOST final was when it turned out he repeatedly called Powell the C-word. And it all may be on tape.
Good evening, supporters, followers, and the entire Mastodon world. What is going on?
This is Charles, the owner of Three919 Studios and producer of the TBMS podcast.
I am going off-topic here...
Last night (4/24), I discovered that my neighborhood has a brand new comic book store.
Yes, I run a small business, but I am a comic book nerd, which drives my girlfriend nuts sometimes, lol.
I like the classics—Batman, Ironman, and Sandman—but I do enjoy a good offbeat horror story. Like this title from Image, "The Me You Love in the Dark".
Of course, when you enter a comic book store, you have to purchase something, right?
I purchased this classic Batman comic. I had the original first print, but it got lost during my years of travels.
Everyone in the Mastodon world, have a great night!
Bit of a long shot, but could my good mastodon follower folk give me some boosts?
I'm starting work on a documentary podcast series about the future of space; renewable/sustainable technologies, commercialism in the sector and the public's perception of it all.
I'm hoping to connect with people who know space to complement my client's contacts, so any signal boosting would be appreciated!
