DooM on TI calculators.

When I was younger there was a mythical piece of software on everyone's lips- DooM for calculators. No one had ever played it themselves, or even seen it, yet it was ever present in conversation. A true software ghost.

time. Hi I'm Jeze! Here I plan on focus on a few particular passions- , , and . A trifecta of interests held together with the chewing gum that is my limited vocabulary. I've always found the intersection of these hobbies appealing. Images will be posted along with articles and thoughts if I feel the need. There has been an itch inside of me to get a story/stories out there as well which I plan on weaving in.

I adore retro anything from tech to video games. All of it. I'll definitely be indulging in those things here!

Thanks for taking the time. Eyeballs are an important commodity in today's internet and having anyone interested in reading just a few sentences of what I put out there is a welcome surprise.

Just realized I never did an introduction post when I changed servers.

Hey there! I’m just your typical outdoorsy single dad living in deep red rural Georgia. Love , especially classic . I am owned by a rescue and do a lot of hiking so expect a lot of cat and nature pics. I am an and ally and vehemently anti-fascist. I promise I’ll try and be as entertaining as possible!

I still have a laser disc player & Star Wars on LD; Han shot first. I use a 12 yr old phone for a music player/streamer. I don't collect old tech, but I appreciate not dumping it for the latest thing.

Here's one for retro-tech aficionados. The used book/mag biz is a sort of time machine. Stop in to browse eons past & imagine future possibilities!

When you obtain some retro technology and you just hope the old battery inside it has enough juice left in it to just be usable.

If like me, you were a child of the '90s, you might remember "ReBoot" – a pioneering 3D animated kids series created by Vancouver's own Mainframe Entertainment.

These documentarians have gotten a hold of the original, uncompressed digital masters. The problem is, they're in the D-1 format.

If anyone in the community has access to a Bosch BTS D1, or a comparable D1 player/decoder, I urge you to reach out to @ReBootReWind (on Twitter) to help preserve !

For our next magic trick in we will be attempting to modernize the laptops updating old hardware that still run Windows 98 and Windows XP. No I am not joking, and we have to see how to get the firmware writing tools working natively in Windows 10/11 or find alternatives or virtualize.

The Washington Post just published an article about the return of video rental stores, something I noticed first-hand this weekend in Fredericksburg, VA when I made a wrong turn looking for the comic shop:

Does anyone have any recommendations for nifty sources of royalty-free, fun imagery of the 1990s internet? I'm working on something interesting.
