If you see an account named thegx.ca/forum (thegx@…) pop up on your servers please suspend it. Some bastard has been setting up spam accounts all over. I’ve lost count of how many I’ve blocked and it’s getting annoying.
There seems to be a few waves of users created just to post spam specifically in kbin. It's quite strange as the posts are so obvious and they keep getting downvoted. I'm also blocking the users but I can't see a way to report them. Is there a better way to handle this situation?

Ich habe die Spam-Liste aktualisiert und ~104 zusätzliche Instanzen gefunden, die weiterhin spammen! Ich habe, mit viel Hilfe von anderen Fedi Admins, die Instanzen in einer Liste zusammengestellt, die sie stumm schaltet und nicht von ihnen deföderiert!
Ich würde mich sehr über eine kleine Spende hier freuen, da Ich wirklich hart und lange an der Erstellung dieser Liste gearbeitet habe, was Ich angesichts meines aktuellen Zeitplans kaum rechtfertigen kann! Dankeschön!
Es gibt eine neue Art von Spam, die gleichen Instanzen sind betroffen wie vorher. Die Verantwortlichen in Japan sollen verhaftet worden sein.
Ist diese Liste importiert ist ein Großteil des Spams vorbei. Das ganze ist für euch leicht, geht mit einem klick! Zudem wird keinerlei Instanz für immer geblockt, keinerlei Follower etc. zerstört oder deföderiert, sondern nur stummgeschaltet. Das ist sehr leicht umkehrbar.
Ihr könnet diese Liste einfach importieren, indem ihr auf https://yourinstance.tld/admin/export_domain_blocks/new geht und yourinstance.tld durch die Domain derer Instanz ersetzt, von der ihr der Administrator seid!
Alternativ könnt ihr auch auf Einstellungen => Moderation => Föderation => Importieren drücken, um diese Liste zu importieren.
Beachtet, dass zwar alle Instanzen mit einem Klick importiert werden können, dass aber diese Instanzen einzeln entfernt werden müssen, wenn der Spam vorbei ist.
Beachtet auch, dass es nur Sinn ergibt, diese Liste zu importieren und die Spam-Instanzen stumm zu schalten, wenn ihr euren Spam lokal und nachhaltig blockiert habt, wie hier beschrieben.

An die Leute da draußen, die immer noch dort sind: Bitte überlegt euch, ob ihr euch nicht einen neuen Server suchen wollt. Für uns Teams von anderen Servern ist es eine große Belastung, die Spam-Bots und anderen Probleme von mastodon.social zu moderieren und nach und nach werden immer mehr andere Instanzen euren Server deshalb stumm stellen oder komplett sperren. Das heißt, mit diesen Servern könnt ihr dann nur noch zum Teil oder gar nicht mehr interagieren.
Ich bin dann mal Meldungen bearbeiten und Spam-Bots von mastodon.social sperren...
I’m getting inundated with spam posts. They are all DMs to me and a few others, all from users with zero followers/following, all with Japanese text. The user names and instances vary with each post, so while I can and do block and report them, they just keep coming.

I see rising amount of spam accounts on inactive servers. People should continue using and upkeeping their servers, otherwise they end up being hives for spammers. This is like a textbook case of how not to set up servers. You should not set up and forget. It's constant work.
Hmmm, every server I'm getting spam from has a new user in their public directory named yqqwe, and each one of these users is following mastodon_admin_yggwe on a single-user instance mastodon.tinynews.org. One can look at the 924 followers of this admin and they all are named yqqwe and they are all on servers I've been getting #spam from. #fediverse#moderation#administration
Anyone else getting hit with a lot of #spam today - much of it in #Japanese? Or is it just me? Sad to see that #Mastodon has reached this point in its evolution as a mainstream platform now...
Is there any way we, as users, can help deal with the waves of spam-meds-bots? When I get the chance I downvote, but that's not possible for microblog. Do reporting them have any effect, or they go in the pile and are more a nuisance than a help?...

Kbin Pornbot alert - looks like a number of bot accounts have taken up residence on kbin and are spamming /m/random with porn
