Schon vor der Weidesaison hatte ich ein mulmiges Gefühl. Vor drei Tagen hab ich erfahren, dass seit Anfang Jahr 5 Wölfe von Süden her ins Kulturland kommen, eine Wildkamera auslösen, 100m unter unserem Haus durch queren, bis zur Strasse weitergehen, drehen und 15 minuten später nochmals ein Selfie machen und wieder in die Wildnis verschwinden. Alle 2 Wochen sind sie da.
Ein erwachsenes Weibchen, ein Rüde, und drei Jungtiere vom letzten Jahr.
Unser Zaunmaterial ist zwar konform, aber für meinen Geschmack zu niedrig. Also nochmal Viehüterstäbe nachbestellen, 150cm hoch. Damit ich über dem netz nochmal 2 Bänder spannen kann.
Sie werden kommen, sie werden den Zaun gründlich untersuchen. Sie werden versuchen die Schafe von ausserhalb der Weide zu treiben, dass sie durch den Zaun brechen.
Sie werden auch kleine Schlupflöcher finden. Und ich versuche wie ein Wolf zu denken, um den Zaun dicht zu machen.
Herdenschutzhunde kommen für uns nicht in Frage. Allein schon die Prüfung für junge Herdenschutzhunde grenzt an Sabotage in der Schweiz.
Und ich habe echt nicht die Löffel zusätzlich noch Verantwortung für 2-3 Hunde des Kalibers Pyrenäenhund oder Maremmano zu übernehmen. Andere Rassen sind im Bundesprogramm nicht vorgesehen. Zucht ist an so strenge Auflagen geknüpft, dass es nicht als Betriebsstandbein taugt.
Kantonal gibt es neu auch projekte.

The harvest was potentially the 1st time a gray wolf has been identified in the Lower Peninsula since the species was wiped out driven to [#extinction] from the state in the early 20th century, MI Dept of #NaturalResources said.
The #Michigan#hunter who harvested the #wolf reported harvesting "a large animal," the #DNR said in a Tues press release. Genetic tests confirmed the animal was a #GrayWolf.
The hunter was participating in a legal #CoyoteHunt & was accompanied by a guide. He said he believed the animal to be a large #coyote. The wolf weighed 84 lbs [that’d be a huge coyote], while Eastern coyotes typically weigh 25-40 lbs, the DNR said.

I'm becoming used to that because it's true. I've lived amongst #wolves since I was 7 with the Blue Feathers pack, so I'll be posting lots of #wolf spark renders, like the one of Mother Wolf below. (Read the ALT text.) She's the third white wolf in that role because people live longer. I #hunt with #knives, but am learning #archery because I'm not yet a provider for the pack. I can't run as fast as they can, so I use my #knife once they've brought down the prey. My #gift is befriending #beasts. I can speak with them and they become smarter. I'm not sure if the effect is just on those beasts I've met, or if it spreads. If you've noticed wolves being smarter or more friendly to people, please private message me! If you want to. Not trying to impose. This goes with red #dragons. I befriended the one all over the news who burnt up the farm—and, no, she wasn't going to burn up the capital! She sneezed. The #wolf, spotted deep in the woods of #Italy’s Gran Bosco di Salbertrand park, was not grey like his companion, but an unusual blond. His colouring indicated this was not a wolf at all, but a hybrid #wolfdog.

Vom einfachen Steuerzahler bezahlte Hetzjagd in Russland. Die St.Galler haben diesen Saustall selber gewählt und wussten schon vor den Wahlen wer sie da wählen.
Ab Dienstagabend darf in der Region Hannover ein Wolf geschossen werden, der ein Rind gerissen haben soll. Niedersachsen setzt damit als erstes Bundesland das neue sogenannte Schnellabschussverfahren um.
In dem Gebiet soll es bereits mehrfach zu Rissen gekommen sein, obwohl die Sicherheitsmaßnahmen eingehalten wurden.
Jaarlijks worden in Belgische slachthuizen zo'n 120.000 schapen geslacht. En wij kunnen beslissen om geen dieren te eten, de #wolf kan dat natuurlijk niet.
Ter vergelijking in 2023 zijn er in ons land 80 schapen gedood door een wolf. #Honden doden er meer dan 1000 per jaar.
