Serious question, please boost for reach.

I’m a 50+ white male.

How many old white guys out there would be willing join a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to oppose old white guys in positions of power? How many people would be willing to provide financial support for the same?

Nothing like this currently exists in the U.S. and I think it could be a damn effective form of protest. Personally, I’m sick and tired of seeing old fucking white guys in power everywhere I turn. Am I an aberration?

Oh, and despite thinking of myself as a bit of wordsmith, I’m admittedly terrible at acronym generation. What’s a good name for an organization pursuing said mission?

Bearded_Pip,
@Bearded_Pip@c.im avatar

@LeftistLawyer Koosh Brothers. No Acronym needed. Your target audience will get the reference and ghe Koch joke. If you need to it’s KBA, Koosh Brothers for America.

Am I off base in thinking conservatives don't do art?

Art is imagination.

The past is an anchor around the neck of those who fail to use it to imagine a better future.

Bearded_Pip,
@Bearded_Pip@c.im avatar

@LeftistLawyer the failed creative to Nazi pipeline is alive and well.

Also, Orson Scott Card is a successful novelist, the Dilbert douchebag was also successful, the Frasier guy, Mel Gibson. They do make art and sometimes good art.

What's the worst thing that your boss has ever done? Mines would probably be the time I worked for a law firm and the owner wanted us to clear out the upstairs of a dusty ass building that he owned to look scrounge for office supplies (literally not in my job description at all) and as we're clearing things out he tells us that they're going to come back and clean up the asbestos in a few days.

@BlackAzizAnansi I had a boss at Grainger that had zero concept of saftey. I swear she tried to kill me three different times.

To justify its massive killing of civilians in Gaza to the U.S., “Israeli officials privately invoked the 1945 U.S atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki” in discussions with Secretary of State Blinken.
What the U.S. did at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a crime against humanity, for which Truman should have been dragged before the Hague. So for any decent person, the Israeli comparison amounts to a confession that they, too, are guilty of war crimes.

@KevinCarson1 @HeavenlyPossum it’s so much worse of a comparison because Israel has nuclear weapons.

The Arab regimes' cowardly response will have repercussions on their longevity. That I can guarantee.

They could have done so much more to protect Gaza without doing anything militarily. They could have threatened to break off ties, expel ambassadors from UAE, Egypt, Jordan etc

The Saudis could have publicly declared that they will refuse any negotiations without a ceasefire two state solutions.

Qatar could cut off oil supplies.

So much can be done without lifting a single weapon.

the funniest thing about Apple is the last version of MacOS features "video reactions" where if your camera sees you do a thumbs up or heart symbol with your hands, stuff happens behind you like fireworks in ANY video app you are using BY DEFAULT.

A friend was in an online therapy session, describing his trauma so the therapist asked if he was alright and he did a thumbs up and then HUGE FIREWORKS BEHIND HIS HEAD.

It's so bad that online therapy sessions now start with a warning dialog!

Bearded_Pip,
@Bearded_Pip@c.im avatar

@mathowie @rawx i found this in my therapy session too. It was funny, but not the right time or place. I did a sarcastic thumbs up too. So it could have been bad things I was talking about.

Holy moly! Yet ANOTHER upset in the Women's World Cup! The second ranked team, , go out of the tournament after only mustering a draw with South Korea, who were essentially just playing for pride.

The New York Times is responsible for Trump being in office instead of Hillary and that’s not even particularly controversial.

Blame Maggie Haberman if you like, blame Patrick Healy, or blame Dean Baquet. They all share blame. But the New York Times made coverage choices that got Trump into the presidency.

    @Teri_Kanefield @FayeSouthall bluesky is already smoking the fediverse. The big names are moving there, and people are begging for invites. Demand is greater than supply. That’s a winning formula. Finally, it’s easier to start using than fediverse. There is no competition.
