Given the recent surge in trolls here, it may be useful to remind that researchers have found that up to 45% of IG accounts are bots, and 15% of Twitter accounts are bots. So that means between 15% and 45% of everyone here may be a bot whose job may literally be to ruin your day so that you won’t build and organize a community. Just card punchers tasked with emotional terrorism. So please feel free to think of anyone abusive to as nothing more than that gross ad you mute every time.
Android 15 is preparing to add a new feature that makes all apps go dark, even if they don't have a dark theme. This feature can even force apps like Fitbit to go dark!
This month it is 30 years since I started working on browsers. April 1994 is when Geir and I started working on the Opera browser. We founded the company a year later.
Initially I made the UI, while Geir did a lot of the core.
Since that time I have dedicated myself to making the Web live up to its potential. First at Opera and now at Vivaldi.
If you ever used Opera and you have not tried Vivaldi, I invite you to give us a try!
If you never used Opera or Vivaldi, you are invited as well!
It’s an unpopular opinion among EV purists, but I think hybrids will reduce a lot more carbon emissions than BEVs, for the simple reason that way more people can switch. Even without access to charging outlets, hybrids are far more efficient thanks to their regenerative braking. With access to outlets, they are as good as EVs within their electric range, which will account for most of the daily commutes of their owners, and all with far smaller batteries and better costs of ownership than BEVs.
The way to eliminate emissions due to personal transportation is not to put people in BEVs. It’s to eliminate commutes and massively invest in (electrified) public transportation.
I placed some activated alumina dessicant in with my spool of Carbon Fiber Nylon a few hours ago, and yeah so far it is working far better than silica gel. We'll see where things are by the end of the weekend. I might finally be able to print.
Not shown, after taking the first photo, I barely had the Polybox open for a minute, when it shot up to 30% humidity. I imagine that recovered quicker than the other 4%.
Airline pricing has gotten so ridiculous. Not only is everything a separate fee, but now they charge a different price for every seat depending on how desirable they think it is 🙄
