V MSF:

On 20 Nov, 2 missiles hit a hospital in Selydove, . Although no MSF staff were harmed, several people in the hospital were injured and 3 people were killed.

This is the 2nd attack within a week on a hospital in Ukraine where MSF is present.

@fulelo The al Nasr claim seems extraordinary and needs good evidence & investigation. HRW are generally not good at that. Hamas like such claims. If the report is accurate, were all reasonable measures taken to evacuate the babies?
There was a report of a hostage giving birth in captivity. Was that confirmed?

I am getting very unhappy about the ongoing & perhaps increasing loss of my sense of smell/flavor 2 weeks into my COVID infection. I had 5 vaccines, but XBB.1.5 evades them.
I only have basic taste - sweet, sour, salt, bitter. Coffee & hot chocolate taste like hot sweetened water, with a little bitterness for strong coffee. I can only just tell fresh coffee has brewed, from a metre or so away. Bananas & lots of other foods are like cardboard.
I have to lie down most of the time or I cough terribly.
It's miserable.

@joaocosta North Korea sent old stocks from years of manufacturing & ongoing tension. Europe disposed of ammunition stocks during 18 years of mostly peace 1990-2007 & didn't re-arm despite the Russian invasions of Georgia in 2008 & Ukraine in 2014.

This is Dick Van Dyke (& me, and my BFF/the teacher/my co-director) in black box theater of the public performing arts high school where I taught/directed Comedy class/shows. Dick wanted to see us in action, loved it, asked me to write/direct his annual theater production to "make it funnier."

Yes, Dick Van Dyke asked ME to make HIM funnier. WUT?! I plotzed. I died. I accepted. Did it for 2 yrs, finally had to quit due to time issues.

Good morning from London, the pause in fighting in the #Israel - #Gaza war was due to start nearly to hours ago. Here are some observations of colleagues on the ground -

@fulelo Context: Where I live, Victoria Australia, on 31 July 2022, 2879 of 6615 (43%) people in Victorian prisions had not been convicted. It's called being charged/indicted and held on remand. That's with us not having terrorism & civilian unrest.
Israel naturally preferentially releases those charged with relatively minor offences, who spend a higher proportion of their time in prision on remand.

Petsonally I was shocked to hear a magistrate tell a woman she would be released "for time served" if she pleaded guilty but stay in jail for at least 3 more months if she continued to plead not guilty. If she pleaded guilty, 100% of her prision time would have been spent on remand.

@fulelo Worth noting than 30 Thais were kidnapped on Oct 7 but only 12 have been released. I haven't seen any explanation of why 18 Thais are still being held by terrorists.

This has a very impressive video of the Hamas tunnels under al Shifa hospital. The tunnels got power and water from the hospital, including its solar system & generators. That is a clear abuse of the requirement to not be used to harm "the enemy". Al Shifa had zero right to protection under the Geneva Conventions.

Again, judge shows little understanding of computers & the internet. Most lawyers are wilfully ignorant of technology & I think Judges may deliberately not use it.

@noelreports This should be an EU standard. All cars confiscated from drunk drivers should be transferred to the Ukrainian government. Initially to use in the war. Eventually to help them rebuild & help their budget.
Imagine an advertisement - car swerving around shell holes. Occasional explosion. Bullet holes in the car. Soldier driving: "Please drink and drive. This car is almost worn out"

They are very unlikely to do this, of course (although I hope that some other country will), but the point is less to force the UK to do it than to show the strength of public feeling on the issue.

Judge was asking, "lets explore your argument with a hypothetical" & Sauro was "I reject your hypothetical"
That doesn't help the judge accept Sauro's argument.

UAV mothership drops FPV drones in the Russian rear to strike 20-30 km deep

“The UAF are using tactics with master UAVs for FPV drones.

The FPV with a heavier charge applies to the mother drone (Baba Yaga type) at maximum distance and height. After which the FPV “disappears” and flies towards the target. The mother drone also acts as a repeater. This way the drone saves battery and flies over a longer distance + the weight of the warhead increases.

    Unfortunately the MSF convoy had turned back, in fear, and so where not on the ininery announced. That increased the danger a lot.

    @alexkidman The main EV charge need is being able to charge at low rate (10-15 amp) at home, even if it's an apartment (on street overnight parking is a hard one).
    That covers 95% of the charging need. Long trip charging & "oops I need a charge - eg home charger failed" is the other 5%.

    The Hungarian parliament is not yet prepared to ratify Sweden’s application to join NATO, as the issue will not be on the agenda of the upcoming parliamentary session, despite expectations and earlier assurances, MP Ágnes Vadai said on Wednesday.

    Despite Budapest’s promise that it would not be the last to ratify Sweden’s application, it seems inevitable as Turkey, the other last non-signatory country, moves closer to signing.
