So, Microsoft is already stuffing “AI” onto your computer whether you like it or not. For now, you can kill the process ai.exe and delete the associated files if you have admin rights.

It only works by stealing and the only way people will accept it is to forcibly shove it down their gullets.

@RickiTarr And in the case of a true narcissistic sociopath, they absolutely know they are lying. Getting you to accept the lie without challenging them is their endorphin hit and the source of their power.

Most people will not confront a narcissistic sociopath with their bullshit (because of fear of retaliation via rage), so lying becomes a self-reinforcing cycle to continually get what they want at everyone else’s expense.

What the fuck happened to our dignity and sense of self-worth that we have allowed tech to manufacture this false scarcity of USB ports on computers?

It will be USB-C’s 10th anniversary next year and I’m fucking tired of conserving ports. I don’t want another hub. Give us a phalanx of the damned ports front/back/left/right. It can’t possibly cost that much. Enough of this bullshit already.

Another strategy is to install combination AFCI/GFCI circuit breakers which will detect and trip on either ground faults and arc faults. They’re required for all new residential buildings in code anyway. The only downside is the modest expense, but still cheaper than any kind of fire remediation.

@msquebanh The daftness and corruption of British power planning: also endless. They literally mowed down all the trees on their island over 400 years ago, planted zero back, and now see fit to mow down the rest of the planet’s trees to supply ONE severely-derated power plant.

No one should be mowing down virgin timber to burn it for power.

I’ve been hot waxing my bike chains for about a season now, and the difference in wear versus wet lubricants is astounding. I would have ground through at least one chain by now. Instead, there’s hardly any wear at all.

This is only dry conditions riding. No mud no rain. But this is totally workable for me. Best results have been starting with a new chain and waxing that versus an old, dirty chain.

All I needed was a $15 crock pot and paraffin canning wax.

I re-read this article and what really stands out is the usual differential treatment between men and women.

Guys have trouble with erections from their bike seats and industry mobilizes to move mountains. No boner left behind.

A woman has pain and permanent disfigurement from saddles designed for men, and it’s straight to blame the victim.

I’m glad the conversation has started so that women may soon have equal access to properly fitting equipment.

There was never a discussion of banning that, Judy Blume books, Anne Frank’s Diary, etc.

In my dreams, last night, I was driving around roads, on an upcycled, electric golf cart with a trailer attached to back, with my cat in a backpack windowed carrier in passenger seat. We were heading to a cats cafe.
