Debian Users - Be aware the maintainer of the KeePassXC package for Debian has unilaterally decided to remove ALL features from it. You will need to switch to keepassxc-full to maintain capabilities once this lands outside of testing/sid.

I'm prepared to announce and pursue at this neurodivergent conference call idea alone for a long time before it catches on. It's hard to make things catch on, especially with a crowd that isn't particularly sociable and good at showing up for appointments.

Adding "Set up regular Jitsi Meet conference calls for #ADHD people on Mastodon" to my to-do list, because that sounds like a good idea to me.

Just need to pick a weekly time that works for the maximum number of people in the maximum number of timezones...

Comms on Google Meet are apparently "encrypted", but I call bullshit.

Please help

Journalists: The student protestors appear to be college-aged individuals. Most of them are wearing Columbia sweatshirts. They're carrying overpriced textbooks. We have verified that they are enrolled in classes and are paying tuition to the university.

NYPD: Wow these Antifa agitators are using alarmingly advanced infiltration tactics.

First day of the new job at Boeing went really well! My coworkers all seem super nice. Didn't get near an airplane yet but the mandatory training video taught me how to silently strangle a whistleblower. My manager said we can wear jeans on casual Fridays.

I have a 12 inch iBook G4 if anyone within the continental US wants it. Not even going to ask shipping, I just want to get rid of it.

It's a lower specced one. It's physically damaged (looks to have been dropped) but I know the logic board still works.

I hate to, but 3 days til I throw it out.

Hey folks,

In my little exploration, I'm re-creating the A500 I would've gotten in Christmas 1989 rather than the Macintosh SE I actually got.

My understanding is that the original A500 is capable of displaying 640x400 (NTSC -- I'm in the US) with 4 bitplanes...

So why does workbench display 640x200? (At least, that's what it looks like to me based on the non-square pixels I'm seeing in font rendering)

Update: to avoid interlacing. I forgot abt that 😅
Many thanks for the explanations!

brouhaha,
@brouhaha@mastodon.social avatar

@RL_Dane So that you don't get flicker from interlace.

Just saw a popular meme repeated that essentially reduces to this: "you can recognize true history because it makes you feel bad. If it makes you feel good, it must be false."

Yeah, that's "confirmation bias" + pessimism. It's nonsense.

True history will make you feel all kinds of ways, because "good" and "bad" have been happening all along. Plus, half the time, it's not clear which is which.

Pessimism is NOT realism.

@andros @marcolas The problem is that developers have prioritized their own convenience while wasting users’ time learning each app and wasting users’ money on more computing power, memory, and storage

mjgardner,

@boo_ @andros I didn’t foresee anyone turning Google’s browser engine V8 (2008) into the server (, 2009) and desktop (, 2013) runtimes that ate the world, but here we are.

And Electron was originally developed for ’s text editor (2008) before they were acquired by in 2018, subsequently discontinued in favor of in 2022.

Don’t tell me what you can’t see happening if you don’t remember what already did
