It is tempting to dismiss that manifesto as incoherent and self-serving, but it is important to remember that this it is also a list of beliefs the founders of tech companies will need to recite if they want investment money from that guy and his friends.

@evacide Some counter to the manifesto: All companies—all sectors, all sizes—& definitely any young company thinking of going public, growing beyond a single store front or office, with outside (esp. VC) investors, et al. need a C-Suite level Office of . Needs to be independent, like USG OIG, out of reach of founders, CEOs, et al.
Not a panacea, but a start—a locus for various activities and issues.
Unintended bonus: new emphasis on training and university ethics programs.

    Katalin Karikó was the daughter of a butcher. She wanted to be a scientist, although she had never met one. She immigrated to the US in her 20s, but for decades never found a permanent position, receiving little support from the scientific establishment. Now she’s a Nobel winner!
