I haven't been following this because

a) I already dealt with it to my satisfaction when I domain-blocked Threads LAST YEAR

b) ugh, I just feel like there are bigger threats in my day-to-day

but just to check: an individual domain-blocking Threads is adequate to cast them into the blackness of the void, yes?

And is anyone I care about on a server that is going to defederate from .social because of something Eugen said or whatever?

I only want to open this can of worms by like 1 mm please

Listening to some Trump supporters and folks, smh, we are in BIG trouble. Big trouble. They follow him because of how he makes them feel and no other reason really. That said, the problem should be obvious: there will be no reasoning with them as they are being led by emotion. This will not end well.

Major privacy and health issues with Cineplex in Ontario. This chain is now an unsafe, hostile place for anyone with health issues or who wants to avoid them. Also disturbing that they're using a system that wants to ID customers with facial recognition.

Cineplex chat log with a live agent: "We are requesting you lower the masks for security purposes after the facial recognition can ID you can place the mask on."

In his rally speech, Pierre promised he's "going to bring home" a "new & better" Canada that sounds like an imaginary 'Leave it to Beaver' episode.

@Richard_hoperestored Thanks, me too. Started an antiviral today, hoping it wasn't too late. Tried to get in to see a doctor since Friday. Luckily, she had a cancellation this morning. The pain is surprisingly intense, but taking pain meds helps, and my cat loves it when I'm miserable, so she can lay on my lap all day. Lol

My mother reminded me this weekend that when she left my dad in 1994, she wasn't able to get her own credit card for several years and had to build her credit from scratch. Because she's a woman. In Canada.

It was in the late '80s when I applied for a Sears credit card. I worked full time with an income that was equal to my husband's. When the application form asked for my spouse's name,place of employment and income, I handed it back to them and told her if they won't give me a credit card on my income alone, they don't want my business. They approved my application.

Trudeau looks like he has an infection in his right eye? Or maybe just bleary eyed from the trip to . I am glad we are continuing to do everything we can to help the country. He just said the G7 are seized in trying to rebuild their capacity to produce ammunition and arms for Ukraine.

Well, he has had Covid-19 multiple times, and since it causes vascular damage, he would be more susceptible to burst blood vessels in the eyes. Particularly after a long flight or lack of sleep. My husband has had this problem ever since getting covid in 2022. Also, unexplained nose bleeds. I am glad to see our PM is there to show support for Ukraine.
