My life feels like a hopeless waste. Transition feels like a mistake. In return for less disassociation I’m more depressed, more self-conscious, more anxious, often too scared to leave the house, just deciding what to wear can break me, mirrors are more upsetting than before. I feel like shit, I look like shit, and I’m tired of fighting against it.

I should have listened to the voice that told me I was too bald to do this.

@7of9 @mntmn Lots of people see a fully open laptop as useful. Whether it’s to hack on, learn on, use everyday, etc.
MNT has already had two successful crowd supply campaigns for the laptops, so the interest is obviously there.

I overheard a couple of strangers discussing the bridge collapse in Baltimore.

One guy said he didn't believe a bridge could just collapse from being hit by a boat. The other guy explained it to him in painstaking detail.

Then the guy didn't understand how they could block the traffic but couldn't get the construction workers off the bridge. The other guy had more trouble with that one.

By the time the first guy was on to his third conspiracy, I had to actively tune out to protect myself.

yesterday i brought up the first production MNT Pocket Reform motherboard (no problems so far) and the team started assembling the first devices :3 i'm a bit behind on the software and docs side but crunching as fast as i can

    Going through another period of having The Thoughts it seems.

    Where the thoughts are "actually I was happier and more confident before I transitioned"

    My memory says this is true, external observers say it isn't.

    Maybe I just wish my life was easy / simple again. Maybe if I wasn't still bald and hairy in wrong places The Thoughts wouldn't come back?

    Maybe I just miss being physically strong and the confidence that allowed me to take up physical space?

    reminder that the USB PD 3.0 spec (the latest version!) still contains the phrase "a battery with essentially infinite energy (e.g. a car battery)"

    (the lead acid one, not the EV one. this phrase predates EVs)

    @whitequark @c0dec0dec0de The battery in my Outback liked to die because Subaru didn’t put a big enough battery in to handle standard draw while the car is off if you don’t drive it more than once every other week.
