26 January 1942 | The number of prisoners at the Auschwitz camp during the evening roll-call was 11,432 men.

On that day 41 prisoners perished in the camp: 20 Poles, 10 Soviet POWs, 5 Germans, 3 reeducation prisoners, 2 Jews, and 1 Czech.

just one small inconvenience

on the federated timeline, i enjoy a post and want to read the conversation so i click the toot, i can read everything nice

when i go back i end up on a different place on the timeline, way much earlier, then i have to scroll to the place where i stopped, it also reloads all the toots i have already seen again, wtf?

Can you advice me what i do wrong here?

its not a real problem and i am very happy to be able to read you all, life is suffering, love you

i use the browser version

also i am purposefully on a server far away from the location of my physical ass but still my federated timeline is polluted by my german brethren, its ok, but i d like to read the international toots and not have to scroll through the german stuff again and again

    also i think its a different kind of migration, its not so much hype but i feel like there is no going back once you went to decentral social media

    also i hear, and it makes me laugh, how tech influencers at least in germany make their first confused learnings, they realized that the brand of twitter is dead, the fear for their own brands starts to be bigger than the fear for their clout

    also all the government agencies in germany left for the fediverse, as well as all libraries and so on

    Tipp Nr.30: Achte vor dem Kauf neuer Geräte/Technik unbedingt auf Fallstricke. Diese können sein: App-Zwang, Cloud-Anbindung etc. Nicht jeder »Scheiß« muss mit dem Internet verbunden sein. Wenn die Hersteller dann pleite gehen, sind die Geräte meist nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Vorausschauendes Einkaufen kann das verhindern.

    nice discussion, i d like to add one point:

    besides lifestyle consumption there are others as well

    eg the emission of the way to make all that money as well the emissions associated with investing that money.

    (In carbon counter language lifestyle emissions represent only the scope 1 emissions, the scope 2 and 3 emissions, all necessary for correct carbon accounting, are missing)

    Applying this thinking to ones own life empowers us to associate the emissions our life generates with the specific responsible aspect. First identify, then change.

    For example if i have savings of 60.000€ i am in the top 10%, i think

    but more specific, if i earn my money making weapons or selling petrol products and then to invest my money in weapons and share of companies for petrol products, thats not good and needs to stop

    The feeling of unspecified guilt destroys your revolutionary potential and is no coincidence

    somehow I've noticed that the youtube engagement algorithm seems to be repeatedly sneaking in a bunch of "subtly religious" content that then walks you into more and more extremely religious stuff, with more and more of it being right wing religious stuff too

    eg you're listening to lofi girl and then suddenly at "catholic lofi" girl praying rosaries and you didn't notice and then suddenly you've got all this deeply religious christian stuff and you can't stop it without clearing your cache

    I set up my browser to clear my cache every time I restart my browser, so seeing this happen multiple times makes me think there's been intentional effort to have this kind of "algorithm onboarding"
