please stop presenting using light mode as something worth mocking or a worse experience

very often light mode is an accessibility and readability feature

some people just can't read on dark backgrounds well for example

or need higher contrast in general

or just work in a high-brightness environment where light mode just works better for them

I don't understand why anyone would mock anyone else for needing to have a particular visual set up. It's just weird to me.

I wish more people understood that "I don't like that" =/= "that's not good"

I see once more we are witnessing the "oh no they like nazis, how could we ever have realised???" reaction from people who have been busily ignoring trans people and sex workers telling folk that #substack likes nazis for several years.

It's just so tiring, watching the "I just have some questions" to full blown transphobia to raging fascist progression happen again and again and again, measurably and predictably, and people throwing their hands up and going "who could have foreseen????" every single fucking time.

Anyway, if you don't actually want nazis on your platforms, stop ignoring trans folk and sex workers when they tell you you've got nazis on your platform, and then you maybe won't be so surprised when the nazis start naziing everywhere.

They tell you before you get one that sighthounds are "really lazy," but I don't think you really grok it till you have one (or more) in the family. Like "they sleep 16-18 hours a day" is a fact that doesn't prepare you for the reality. "They really like blankets" actually means an exponential increase in the numbers of duvets and therefore duvet covers that need washing in the house.

It genuinely astounds me how much the transphobes in our party are monomaniacally obsessed with @goatsarah .

Apparently those of us who do not want to exclude trans people from public life are all Sarah's acolytes, and doing her bidding.

The fact that Sarah left not just the party but the country several years ago matters not one jot, whit, or iota to them. They just can't imagine that people might come to a conclusion by themselves, therefore there must be a sinister mastermind controlling everything, and it must be Sarah.

Anyway, looking forward to the arrival of my nice acolyte uniform ;)

Seeing lots of people complaining about Spotify's latest fuckery, and... I jumped ship for Tidal after the Rogen thing and I have not regretted it for a second.

  • vastly better sound quality
  • more money to artists
  • better UI
  • you can import all your playlists
  • there are better playlist features

My favourite bit is that they give a little bonus to your most-played artist every month, and you get a little mini "spotify wrapped" twice a month.
