In today's bee drama, there are two separate group of bees attempting to claim an empty box we set up to capture any new swarms here. Their advance parties spent several hours playing "King of the Hill" (err..
Queen of the Hill) and wrestling each other out of the box. Too cold for a swarm to fly in, but not too cold to have a bee battle!

(hint: if you truly want to celebrate your mother, do what we always did for my mom, and do the buffet the week BEFORE or the week AFTER, when the buffet is better and you don't have crowds; I also used to go to the chocolate/flower stores the DAY AFTER and had gotten flowers for 90% off and chocolates for 50-75% off... 😉

@ai6yr Steak dinner comin’ up next weekend. As for this morning, we have a brand-new “not just good, but legit freaking great” shop that just opened around the corner from us in far north Dallas. Yeah, you read that right — New York bagels in (n.b.: it ain’t the water, it’s the recipe & the technique). We bought Mom an everything bagel, and an olive cream cheese schmear which we haven’t been able to find locally here in a decade. Happy wife, happy life! 🥰

@ai6yr Very good BBQ, Tex-Mex, pan-Asian, Indian, French, continental Italian, and more. We’re not quite the same level of “foodiness” as Chicago or Philly, but we ain’t bad either. Just NY/Philly working-class Italian-style deli and bagels — and Chinese — have tended to be weak or nonexistent here.

This paper is trash. We do this every few years.

The conclusion is correct (graduate degree holding white men believe the most 'taboo' conspiracy theories), but the reasons it suggests why, are sociology-babble garbage. The real reason is:

  • Racism is a lie. To believe in racism, you must believe a set of easily debunkable lies.
  • Richer, whiter, maler, more educated populations are not less racist, despite attempts to twist stats to say this. They're more racist.

Dig a little deeper - they didn’t so much as uphold the lower court ruling as much as they declined to call it up for their review. May not be the right set of facts to try to set national precedent on. Hmm, took a zinc and hoping for the best. @ai6yr That’s at least better than some, anyway. We normally don’t mask around here at this point and just keep our flu & COVID shots current, but when any of us is feeling sniffly or coughing outside of normal allergies, that person masks up outside the house to try to avoid exposing others.
