After eating tempeh from a wet market in Surabaya recently, the Trader Joe’s tempeh is extremely disappointing. It tastes more like the idea of tempeh

@skinnylatte bad tempeh just makes me miss good tempeh even more.

the craziest thing for me is that most Indonesian tempeh is actually made with imported American soybeans!

Of course, the "anti-corruption" drive they are referring to is the arbitrary arrest of environmentalist and human right defenders by an increasingly government.

I love* the integration of OneDrive and Office Apps.

For instance, in PowerPoint, I love* how when I go to save a deck I've just created, I get the of this workflow in order to pick the folder I want to write it to:

  1. First get prompted just to throw it in my OneDrive. Click the little "More options..." link down the bottom.

  2. Go to an erstwhile full "Save As" dialog that lets me choose between OneDrive, SharePoint, This PC, etc. Click the "This PC" link.

  3. Get the offer to just write it in my Documents folder, or maybe I'd like to create a New Folder, or maybe I'd like to pick one of 5 or 6 folders under Documents that I've never saved a document into. Click the little "More options..." link.

  4. Finally get presented with a true Explorer Save-As dialog where I can navigate my damn file structure and choose the directory I want to write the file to.

Seriously, if you want a lesson in how not to do file-access UX, look no further than MS Office fully integrated with OneDrive.

We're not going to solve supply chain deforestation by only focusing on global north demand.

Calling criticism of "yellow journalism" and then writing an article full of unabashed praise and zero mention of forced labor (a key component of cheap solar)...is something.

Reality - cheap/free labor + coal + weak pollution standards in Xinjiang = cheaper solar & EV batteries.

Indeed, it says American can "learn from China's solar experience" but no idea that what lesson is. Embrace authoritarianism & violate labor rights?
