@kevinrns I'm in California, and my Governor is the very best of people. Our Democratic governors have always been excellent. The state has assisted us in going completely solar/electric, we put in solar panels and a battery, got an EV which we charge at the house, we're putting in heat pumps this summer and moving to an electric kitchen this winter.
@kevinrns And we owe it all to our wonderful governor, who has always been on the cutting edge in ensuring that Californians have Good Things. By end-year we'll be completely off the grid and cut our last ties with the gas companies, and next year we'll have a graywater garden, so hooray?

Mary Fields (Stagecoach Mary) was the FIRST Black American & 2nd woman to deliver the mail in the U.S. At 60, she applied for a mail carrier position in Montana's Cascade region. She aced the job by skillfully hitching her horses faster than anyone else. Despite bandits, wolves, & grueling weather, Mary never missed driving the route with horses & Moses, her mule. She would often trek by foot over 10 miles with sacks over her shoulder.
@Deglassco I can't help but imagine what this able and talented woman could have made of herself today, with all those barriers removed! The robbery of Black talent and ability has been a terrible blow to the whole world, depriving us of contributions that would have made our world immeasurably better.
