We'll be blacklisting mailbox.org and websites using it for email hosting for registration on discuss.grapheneos.org and as an alert email for attestation.app. They're blocking emails from our mail server for a convoluted, nonsensical reason and won't stop.
@GrapheneOS if you're relaying all mail (even invitations) through mail.g.o why are they blocking it because of website ip? Makes no sense...(?) You'll probably figure it out, but rbls usually check relay address, not client.
(Otherwise every home email client would be blocked because of dynamic ips.. )
Email Clients?
I'm looking for Outlook/Gmail options for Win10/11. In the past I used #Mozilla thunderbird but I need calendar integration. What else is out there that's good for Exchange/O365 #email
and not using o365, but some older support i did moving people away, only outlook client worked there.
their crappy-proprietary service doesn't play well (/nice) with non M$ email clients.
lately #thunderbird is freezing at start.. very slow response, almost unusable UI. takes a while to get to normal behavior, and sometimes freezes completely (=have to kill process).
using just 14 imap accounts (in 4 different servers) with a few dozen filters, and ~10 RSS feed subscriptions.
also connected to cardav/caldav with a single nextcloud instance.
could be network related, but have noticed same behavior both with slow/fast network connections.
finally, #thunderbird freezing was -probably- caused by several (~25) filters on a single account..
there were 3-4 obsolete filters and 1 filter was also conflicting with another. (been there for years - not updated since setup)
moved valid account filters server-side and disabled all from thunderbird, and now it behaves normally again.. no lag, freezes or oom-serial-killer...
btw, this account gets hundreds of messages each day.
@cliffwade doing email hosting at work, so while paid service for most, its free for the workers to use as they like :)
trusting the sysadmins that manage personal info/data/communication, is a big plus ;-)
@historyofpunkrock bad religion. a punk from school had travelled in the uk and she brought back a BR lp : "against the grain". first br music i heard. They marked me for ever since.
dont like "gray race" and later sound, but still , the first lp, and the next (suffer, no control, against the grain), have always been a reference. #Bad_Religion
#Ramones were always another favorite... so did early blackflag, dk, circle jerks and angelic upstarts...
@caiocgo is your system usrmerged? seems #debian changed everything and didn't give a shit about systems that havent usrmerged already. (When usrmerge package isnt essential or even required by any other package.)
Another wontfix (=f*ck users) success for some dds/user haters.
@peterkal πως και ετσι;
@snack@randahl war? How can oppressed people living in worlds largest concentration camp be at war?
This.is apartheid and the oprressed had enough of their chains. once again. How can they be at war with a nuclear power with a weapons budget of billions of $ ?
And people like you support mass killings, sadist tortures, collective punishment, because?
Btw, idf has been using human shields (children too), for decades. you probably never really question your sources.
For those of us receiving email in multiple languages, it would be awesome to have #Firefox Translate built in to Thunderbird. No sending your sensitive conversations to a corporate cloud, just a lean translation service running locally.
We've decided to make it a development priority for Q1 2024!
@thunderbird are you sure ? Emails are not websites, they are usually private communication from known contacts (in a language they already know). Messages people receive in other languages are possibly/usually spam. Offering a translated spam message, could perhaps seem like ham for some people.
Unless i'm missing something(?), that option should be opt-in only, not something enabled by default (like firefox did).
@thunderbird sure i get its useful for some people, but i still think people like yourself are "exceptions" ( in a nice way :) ).
majority receives mostly spam in other languages..
Dont know for sure, just read the bugreport, its all technical really and about implementing the feature, no feedback about possible usecases anywhere..
Whenever I see comments like this about #Wayland I always have to ask, who do you think would be developing this new protocol? Every single #Linux graphics developers agrees that Wayland is where we're going, the problem is nobody agrees on how it should look
@kkarhan@BrodieOnLinux right, seems you just guess..
another toxic comment calling some random different entity-others toxic. . and random foss software are bad.. based on what?
whatever.
there are people with devuan + wayland + pipewire, people with devuan in infrastucture. (btw, what do you consider critical?)
not everyone is a hater if he/she doesn't like something. so, pls be nicer.
@kkarhan@BrodieOnLinux@bsi
(don't know BSI)
was debian used in critical infrastucture in its 5th-6th year (?) eg. can't recall any potato in space ... mostly small repair shops, isps, hobbyists, etc...
and anyway, noone uses linux mint or manjaro or arch or fedora in critical infra either.. some are even using windoze servers for critical stufff. so, what's the point really?
@evan
"And they didn't do anything wrong by disconnecting from the network when the spam and harassment outweighed the benefit to their users."
Thats what some instances are trying to prevent here. disconnect from a major spam, harassment & "you're the product", ad platform.
harassment from meta "bots" to those who block threads, has started....
ads too.
