Das WaPo Abo habe ich inzwischen gekuendigt. Die NYT reicht mir vollkommen um internationale News zu lesen. Die letzten Deutschen Abos waren Spiegel, Zeit und FAZ. Ebenfalls alle gekuendigt. #News#Medien#Apps
I've been working on a new app to use your #Linux phones and tablets as secondary wireless "side displays" (not mirrors). This is based on #GStreamer, x264, #Mutter APIs, and low-latency UDP streaming, and will be designed to work on both ARM and Intel, regardless of hardware acceleration support. (Testing on a #librem5)
This is still at an early stage, and will take some time to become usable. Thoughts and feedback?
I absolutely LOVE the customization options of @MonaApp for iPhone. I can actually make it very close #MastodonBirdUI because I can pick the hex colors, change profile photos to circular, make breathing space more relaxed etc. Good job! #BirdUI#Apps#UI#MastodonApps#iPhone#iOS#Mastodon
I'm looking for recommendations. I usually use Overdrive with books I've downloaded (I think in the epub format). But now I hear that Overdrive is no longer being supported (I think the company wants people to use their Libby app instead). I'm hoping to find something open source and privacy minded. Also not wild about what...
So I’ve been trying to use Apple Notes as my notes “Brain” so to say. I keep finding myself wanting to go back to Notion due to the lack of functionality in Apple Notes.
I’m thinking about switching apps. What does everyone use as their go to note taking/organizing app?
Some that I’m considering is Drafts, Bear, and Obsidian.
On a scale of 1 to 4, how satisfied are you with the #software available for #linux in your particular area of interest? For me it would be somewhere between 2 and 3. #linuxaudio#apps#plugins
I’ve been very happy using kbin so far. But it seems like there’s a lot of app development for lemmy happening. Is there any chance of apps coming to kbin or support for kbin through some of the lemmy apps?
I'm as excited about the rumors of improved desktop modes and video out support for the Pixel 8 as the next guy, but we've fielded these kinds of rumors before.
Currently the only phone I have that can run an Android 14 beta, AND has video out, just did this using the desktop mode in Android dev settings.
Which is even more broken than the A13 desktop mode, which was already almost nonfunctional from the A12 mode.
I really WANT Google to give us a Pixel 8 with a proper desktop or tablet large screen mode, but I'm not getting my hopes up until we see the phone in action.
Show me your current home screen and tell me all the details about it!
Device: Pixel 7 Pro with Android 14 Beta 5.2
Launcher: @novalauncher 8.0.6 Beta(Special internal build)
Icons: YouLine
Wallpaper: Randomly found on the internet
Widget(s): Nova search bar with date, and weather.
I want to make a Wirecutter for #apps. Like, this is very best app for X purpose. (no games) Anyone want to start a new media pub with me? (Just kidding lol but I sorta want this to exist)
Push #notifications now available for #Calckey#iOS users using the #PWA.
If you update to iOS 16.4 and "add to home screen", that version (called a PWA) will have full notifications and background/offline support!
For those with the PWA already added, you may need to go into Settings> Notifications> and enable push notifications.
#Reddit users are mad about the #API charges that hit third party #apps, but I actually find this from #Huffman much more concerning: "...data licensing is a new potential business for us."
What he's actually saying - they want to sell user data to AI companies for them to train their models. This should be a reason to delete all your content and leave the platform. In Europe, you should raise a #GDPR-deletion request.
Nova Launcher Prime is now on sale for the cheapest price allowed in your specific region. Example, 0.49 cents USD.
This sale will last exact one week so if you don't own Nova Prime yet, now is your chance to get a great deal on the best 3rd party launcher app in the Google Play Store!
#Sovellukset#Appit#Tavat#Apps
Shortly before I left the Civil Service in 2023, I made a complete fool of myself. Someone on Slack was discussing their department's app and I (rather snidely) asked why it was an app rather than a website. After all, one of the seminal blog posts of GDS was about not building apps. In response, […]

OC Apps for kbin?
I’ve been very happy using kbin so far. But it seems like there’s a lot of app development for lemmy happening. Is there any chance of apps coming to kbin or support for kbin through some of the lemmy apps?
What are your opinions on the other Reddit alternatives like Squabbles.io, Raddle, Tildes, etc?
So obviously a lot of us are partial to kbin/Lemmy but have any of you explored the other alternatives like Raddle, Squabbles.io, and Tildes?...
